Thanks. Didn't get an e-mail but the offer was in my account.
Friendly reminder to never redeem your points as a statement credit for Citi double cash, just get the cash back deposited to your bank account. That way you can fully realize that 1% cash back on card payments.

Oh, really?
I don't see a Merchant Credit, do you?

I guess we won't truly know until I try it out.
Give it a try.
My statement closing date isn't until 2/17.
I can also see Citi being Citi and just giving us just the 5% and completely ignoring that the purchase was made at a retailer in one of the top spend categories.

I quote from Citi Paypal offer email: "Statement credits earned will be posted to the primary cardmember's account in 1-2 billing cycles." Here's screenshot from my previous Paypal offer (Spend $200 get $20 back). It took over 3 weeks from last Paypal transaction to get $20 credit.

You are the one who started this by accusing me of lying. Just because you don't get usual 2% Thank you points on Merchant Offers does not mean that no one else does not get them. That makes you special, because I and my friends do get usual 2% TYP on Merchant Offers.

Pay your taxes at pay1040, which accepts PayPal. Fee is 1.87%, which is a money maker if you do this for up to $1500
does this get posted as a purchase, and not cash advance? if it is purchase, then 5% - 1.87% = about 3% profit?

Um. Merchant Offers are something else.
I have rarely used Citi's Merchant Offers but I have gotten them.
THIS offer isn't that.
You are showing your ignorance.

My offer last year was for 5% rewards which is Thank You Points.
That was my offer.

I am not sure what are trying to prove here? From my ongoing experience with Citi I do get usual TYP points on Merchant Offers and statement credits. On last PayPal Special Merchant offer (Spend $200 get $20 back) I have received usual 2% (technically a little bit under 1.9%) TYP and $20 statement credit.
I already posted screenshot of my Citi statement that shows Merchant offers rewards are posted as statement credits.
You got Special promotional personal offer that pays flat 5% in TYP only which is different from usual Merchant offers. You are showing your ignorance.

How to get 10-digit invitation number? Without the 10-digit invitation number one cannot enroll in the offer at all.

You are still not understanding me.
The TYP was my equivalent to your Merchant Offers credit, but 4x instead of 5x.
If you had bother to do the math, you would see that the TYP were exactly 4x of the Paypal purchases.

I got the 1x for payment but not for purchase.
And I got 4x for the purchase as a bonus on each statement.

For some reason, Citi did it completely different for you DC card than my DC card.

Good for you. I understand that you got only 5%. I got $20 as statement credit and usual 2% in TYP. Yet, you don't believe me even after seeing my Citi statements.
Well, I hope on this offer your get only 5% (as you said earlier) and I get 6.95% (as I said earlier). I will update in a month or two after receiving statement credits and usual 2% in TYP. Good luck!
