How's this compared to a kricut or whatever it's called.
Does the same thing but Cricut has gotten into hot water with its customers in the past by trying to make their software pay to play/subscription based meaning if you didn't get their subscription, you had a useless hunk of plastic/metal.

Some people really like Silhouette machines while others prefer Cricut machines. We have Brother Scan N Cut machine. We like it for what we do. We don't use it often and don't pay for subscriptions. I recommend you to do search on each machines and choose the machine that fit your needs the best.
If the price is too high for your budget, you can look one on Facebook Marketplace or Mercari. I found someone selling Cricut Maker machine for $100. Cutting machines are the devices people think it's cool and want to own but end up not using often and collect dust, like bread machine, unless you have a crafty business.

To use a cricut you have to be connected to the internet because the design platform is online. People have complained that they could not even access the platform during peak hours to design stuff. I'd go with Silhouette or Brother scan n cut. Personally i have a silhouette cameo 4 and I love it.

Haven't heard of the brother but I think I'm going to jump on this after reading about the online stuff cricut tried to pull

I've had my cameo 3 for 5 yrs. I absolutely love it. Thinking about upgrading to the cameo 4 plus or pro. Silhouette offers a free version of their software, they also offer a paid version, 1 time fee. I paid that 5 yrs ago and haven't had to pay anything else. Cricut vs silhouette is similar to the android vs apple debate. I would say, Silhouette offers more, can do more with cutting widths and lengths, i like that my software is on my computer, not web based. The cameo 4 series you can cut upto 24 inches wide (depending on which model you get) and then all of them cut up to 60 inches long.

I bought a cricut and the machine is Kool and easy to use I enjoyed the projects I was able to complete with it that being said.
u have to be online to use it and to access your projects they also tried to switch it up on their users and made their software (Wich you have to use in order to use the machine) a subscription based online service and they did this with no notice.
I bought the machine used it once and when I went to use it again I was hit with a paywall in order to use it.
Of course they retracted very quickly after people said they were switching to another machine brand.
But cricut intentionally makes it inconvienient to use there products in hopes of getting more money from u.
And because of that when I need a new machine it will not be a cricut.

Cricut is greedy and makes it intentionally inconvienient to use their machine by forcing u to have internet access as well as trying to force people to purchase a monthly subscription to use their software.
They are a greedy money grubbing company that tried to screw over their customers and if I had to purchase another machine it would not be a cricut

The Cricut is a lot quieter. I bought a Cameo 4 a couple years back because my wife was protective of her Cricut. The stepper drivers on the Cameo are NOISY! Other than that it's a fantastic machine and actually has a bit more it can do compared to a basic Cricut.
