I've always had good luck with Whirlpool appliances except for dishwashers. The racks are metal and coated with some cheap crap that comes off and the racks rust and the pins fall off, usually they start rusting within a year. The racks cost an arm and a leg to replace so not worth it. I bought a Bosch 5 years ago. It was only a few bucks more and has been stellar to a Whirlpool in every way. The racks are nylon and as good as the day I bought it. The highest rated one is also the cheapest one on Consumer Reports. So my suggestion is to spend $70 more and get the Bosch. And for the record, I thought the Bosch was all hype. It wasn't.

We have this. It stopped working once, the repairman came and said motor went bad. He Ordered and replaced it. As I was under 2 years Costco guarantee.. I don't need to pay anything but to get it checked / order /. replace.. took 1 to 2 months..
