The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.
The VITA program has operated for over 50 years. VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:
- People who generally make $60,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers

EDIT: Yea, so this deal kinda is not a deal. It's $39 extra for state and includes filing. So basically the price of premier compared to other deals is actually $74 ($54 + the extra $20 or so from the normally included state). That's more expensive than costco, for example.

I live in Texas and do not need to file state taxes. I also was able to use the AMEX offer of $10 off $50 plus. Even though the fine print does say that you must go to a specific URL, I simply went through the link here and I can confirm that I received my -$10 on my AMEX statement.
I believe $44 for Premium is hard to beat. Good luck!
