Google search seems to indicate that these are alcohol wipes, which tend to remove AR coating from some amazon reviews. Is using this really a good idea?

I've been using these for maybe 10 years with no issues with my AR coating Perhaps the quality of the coating makes a difference though.

not according to my eye doc.
he recommends liquid soap (but not citrus scented) and warm water with a microfiber cloth. I used to use them, and LOVED the convenience, but felt like the material was scratchy, and my lenses bore that out.
I used them every day for 20 years. Only thing that cleans my lenses great. All others pale in comparison. Funny now Costco has them? Costco used to have another brand that sucked spring water.
Walmart carries them if you are not a Sam's or Costco customer. Love yours. D

Second that. Costco carried a 3x boxes of wipes that I hated - smeared lint all over. Come on, the material has to be lint free for lens cleaners.
Still held on to them in the absence of better lens wipes, would gladly get this one. Hope they don't turn dry by the time I get to using them.
Alcohol doesn't harm the AR, but alcohol will crack lower quality polycarbonate lenses. Always fun when that happens while you're adjusting a pair for someone.

Those were absolutely awful with the amount of lint they always left on my lenses. I don't understand how people kept buying that junk. I ended up buying from Amazon instead but will give the Zeiss a try now that costco carries them.

Yeah I just use a tiny bit of hand soap and water and blow the water off the lenses. Completely clean glasses every day.

Not a deal at Sam's. This is the normal price and they're normally carried there.
New at Costco, but like most things, the unit price is a little more expensive than Sam's.
In this case, very little. $0.04/ea at Sam's vs $0.043/ea at Costco.
