If you can get the 2019 and up with an earlier firmware, it's competant.all they did in 2021 was add more RAM. At this point though, I just recommend that people get a galaxy tab A series for $100-ish if they want Android, or a used iPad pro (almost any gen).
Put a different way, if you pretended this was a streaming video player at 1080p and wanted nothing more, this is 100% equivalent to any other recent tablet.
Also, the $15 2018 HD8 is a good deal for misc Android stuff. I use one in my Leaf for LeafSpy and just picked up another to use as a home theater remote.
EDIT: Forgot to add: CHECK YOUR BATTERY heavily while you're still under warranty. Like be brutal to it and its charging port. Those are the main points of failure on the woot refurbs.

Based on https://forum.xda-developers.com/...ez.3913639, it seems like there's a risk of the firmware being too recent to exploit in order to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, and eventually LineageOS.
I keep my HD10 (more current but even 2017 works) next to my PC and have my security camera app on it running 100% of the time. Another one I use to control SONOS.
You can probably find 100's of uses for an HD10 but as a general use tablet, I agree with others -- it's too slow/laggy to use for many apps at a time.

As a software engineer and tinkerer, I have a stack of these and just bought some more. I use them as clocks, weather displays, security monitors, and Home Assistant access panels. Again, not for amateurs, maybe intermediate to advanced technically, but if you are willing to put some time into it, then these Woot sales are amazing.
