Buy a paperwhite, use it until BF, the send them for trade in towards buying newer kindles with BF prices. you will get atleast $20 and a 20 percent off coupon towards purchase of newer kindle then. essentially money makers.

2017 hd10 is almost completely unusable, it's slow has almost no memory and you and anyone you give it to (like your kids) will end up so frustrated with it that you'll daydream about ways to elaborately destroy it

Well I just traded in my kindle 4th gen from like 11 years ago and got a kids paperwhite for myself during that sale last week or two.

Grabbed a 2018 paperwhite for my oldest , and a 2015 for my middle one. Was waiting for the deal to come around. Kids Subscription + Calibre should be good for a while. Will most likely trade in on BF for new ones if they end up getting used and add to my Amazon Kids Subscription Smilie:

Fire HD8's all sold out. This is the perfect size tablet for road trips, and being on planes. I have a 10 and was hopping to get a 8 instead

8s are sold out but it seems like they would have been a good choice to replace my wife's Lenovo tab 8 that she uses for airplane travel but which has a terrible battery and limited storage.

32gb should be plenty for Amazon/Netflix/plex downloads (transcoded).

Does it works for show mode? Or I just use it as an echo show 10 not a tablet?

My brand new HD 10 Plus is right on the border of "slow" for me (yes, ran toolbox et al). I can't imagine anything older. Oh wait, yes I can, the slew of fire tablets hiding in the backs of drawers. Meanwhile, we have 5+ year old iPads still getting regular usage.

I will say the HD 10+ with wireless charger is a perfect HomeAssistant control panel - the reason I bought it. And would be a fine tablet for anyone who has nothing to compare it too.

I'm afraid to ask, but what is a "shower tablet"? If you're in the shower long enough that you have to consume media to pass the time, you're doing it wrong. The planet sees you and says "bad (wo)man. bad touch."
