Buy a paperwhite, use it until BF, the send them for trade in towards buying newer kindles with BF prices. you will get atleast $20 and a 20 percent off coupon towards purchase of newer kindle then. essentially money makers.

2017 hd10 is almost completely unusable, it's slow has almost no memory and you and anyone you give it to (like your kids) will end up so frustrated with it that you'll daydream about ways to elaborately destroy it

Who wants to pay anything for 5+ years old devices? They are already or will go out of software update window and would not be able to run any recent apps which require min os version.

Bought the kindle 2019 around same time last year via similar deal in Woot and it still works well- ended up upgrading to a paperwhite through this deal again. Kindle has been a new discovery for me personally and this with libby has been awesome.

I got the 2015 kindle Paperwhite for $20 it doesn't look like there's much of a difference between the 2016 version for $28

Can you manually load ePub type books on a kindle or is it only things you buy from Amazon? Looking for something my son can use to read eBooks, but that has no internet access for web browsing, installing apps, etc like an actual tablet does. Just want to be able to read books and nothing else.

If it's just the black-and-white reader (kindle) it's fast enough to handle books. If it's the color android one that can run apps and games (fire tablet) it is often slow and underpowered.

BONUS is that you can plug the kindle models into a PC and they show up as a flash drive. You then can download .mobi books from other stores and sites and get books from places other than amazon, sure you dont get progress sync like kindle bought books but they read just as well and might be cheaper elsewhere.

Got one of my kindle paper white orders (the 2015 unit for 19.99) in today already. Box was destroyed by the driver but hey , kindle looks nearly new. Cable is not working but swapped to another micro usb and charging it up now.

Update : this is still live as well and not dead.
