I was looking for a deal on a Fenix 7 and stumbled on the epix Gen 2 at GameStop for $719. This is the base epix gen 2 that retails for $900 and has steel bezels, not the Sapphire glass and Titanium model. You lose out on a few things (16GB vs 32GB storage, titanium frame, sapphire glass, preloaded maps (I think you can still download and install on the base), and the better multi-GNSS tracking), but still a front page matching deal
My first deal submission, apologies if anything is out of sorts.

Does it make sense to spend so much on a smart watch that may be outdated in 2 years.

Depends how much you actually need the Garmin battery vs smartwatch etc. I run avg 50 miles+ using the Apple Watch ultra + WorkOutDoors ($5 app that makes the Apple Watch UI more Garmin-like and gives better fitness tracking) and works well for me, charge it every 1 or 2 days and I like the smart watch features better than a Garmin. Depends what you need
Epix is rad too. Thanks for sharing
I'm also pro sapphire
I'm talking myself into being happy with the non-sapphire because all of the Sapphire finishes are DLC'd, so there seem to be a lot of complaints about scratches being much. more obvious than on the non-coated base steel model. 😇
I've had my Foreruner 235 for 4-5 years now, and the screen seems OK, even after lots of biking (with some spills) and door smacking so I think I should be alright - I will probably throw a screen protector on it, though, just to be safe..
Looks like there's just one left, if anyone is on the fence.
Mine hasn't shipped yet, hope it does soon.

Sometimes on garmins site you can get a Grey case with the raw titanium bezel. Saw it when I ordered my epix mid December but has not been there yet this year. Also the 20% through bcbs did not apply to that model.
It was under the customize it link and you could choose from a number of bands. All the silicon ones were no upcharge. But there was a no return policy on those. You could also order the others with a different band and still have the discount in place but again no returns.
