Doesn't that model use the older battery cell tech?

There's no appreciable difference. The only really difference is the form factor: these 4aH are flatter and wider than the normal 4ah packs. Still only worth $10/aH, so a slick price would be around $80.

Wouldn't mind this for my heated jacket. Not gonna buy them though. I'll live with my bulky jacket battery.

The weight is different. The new 21700 cells are lighter.

I would be in at $100, but this price isn't terrible if you need it. Particularly the battery sanders (which I like a lot) are not only power hungry but bulky batteries really throw off the use of the tool. These are the solution.

To those saying its a trash deal because of its distance from $10AH, I think you are clinging to the past. That was a good general rule in 2019. $10/AH deals are exceedingly rare if not non-existent for Dewalt and Milwaukee and have been for awhile now. You occasionally see it on the homeowner brands like Ryobi, Rigid, Kobalt, etc. but hardly ever on the higher-end tool brands unless you are talking 12v tool lines.

This compact 4ah is 2.8oz lighter than the old 4ah. Not a huge weight savings, but they definitely feel lighter on the sanders since they don't hang off as far.

Clinging to the past? Home Depot and Lowes just ran the same $199 for 2x 5ah + free tool for months during the holiday season, just like they do every year. Great deal for everything or you could return the tool and get the 2x 5ah for $99. You are factually wrong.

Actually the 21700 cells are heavier then 18650 since they are bigger. The 4ah slim has 5 21700 cells compared to 10 18650 cells in the 5ah and thats why its lighter cuz of less cells. 5 18650 cells is lighter then 5 21700 cells which is the 2ah
