The cost of these EV's at higher interest rates, higher insurance rates, and limited range is simply a budget buster for the average working person.
EVs are currently a rich person's toy.

and getting back to build quality then there's the creaks and rattles that invariably come up in most, among many other similar build quality issues.
you may be one of the lucky ones that gets one with few problems but that's not the common experience. Tesla has incredibly inconsistent build quality / massive quality control issues. and they seem to just not care that much, because these types of issues have persisted for many many years.

In 2009, I couldnt get an $8000 first time homebuyer credit(on a $450K house) because the income cut off was $75K.
Now a single person has to make around 70K to get the full $7500 rebate on a $55K/$80K car/Truck.
When looking at EV SUV, no other manufacture has a comparably performance / range offering for a cheaper price.
The hyundai, kia, volvo, audi are 60k+ in a comparable trim with no tax incentive
ford/VW are slower with less range, and still more expensive
So Tesla, as of today is the best value for money buy. On top of being the best speed / range wise. And undoubtedly best infrastructure. Chargers everywhere, chargers are maintained and are not constantly down.
I am not a fan of Tesla or Elon. But for EV, after the price cuts, the clear choice when it comes to price and other EV considerations is Tesla by a mile.

Tesla was the only choice at one point. Now there are much better options available.
They should have called in the E-Xplorer or E-dge or E-scape....something like that.
