The cost of these EV's at higher interest rates, higher insurance rates, and limited range is simply a budget buster for the average working person.
EVs are currently a rich person's toy.
Tesla not worth it unless their autopilot gets better.
But Mach-E has a much lower price of entry if you don't care about AWD or niceties like heated seats or pano roof. The Select RWD would be $40k after tax rebate while the cheapest Model Y would be about $7000 more.
Being able to do hands-off highway driving with Blue Cruise is nice too. That's a $2000 option on the Select and standard on the Premium. You can't get it on the Tesla unless you opt for the FSD for $15,000 .

Model Y does come with Auto-pilot standard tho, which lets you do highway driving. No need for FSD.

and getting back to build quality then there's the creaks and rattles that invariably come up in most, among many other similar build quality issues.
you may be one of the lucky ones that gets one with few problems but that's not the common experience. Tesla has incredibly inconsistent build quality / massive quality control issues. and they seem to just not care that much, because these types of issues have persisted for many many years.

Where are you getting the highest customer satisfaction rating from? I know they edge out slightly in safety and certainly buying experience (but b.e. will be improving for Ford too in 2024), but other than that and especially the SC network, no so special w/definite issues in other areas as previously noted.
