The cost of these EV's at higher interest rates, higher insurance rates, and limited range is simply a budget buster for the average working person.
EVs are currently a rich person's toy.

A Rav4 Hybrid gets 41MPG. At $4/gal that's $9.75 to go 100 miles
A Model3 uses 26Kwh to go 100 miles. Energy must be less than $0.30/kwh to beat a Camry Hybrid at $4/gal
A Mach-E uses 37Kwh to go 100 miles. Energy must be less than $0.26/kwh to beat a Rav4 hybrid at $4/gal
Supercharging stations cost $0.58 in California during "Peak hours" (9am-9pm). Thats $15.08 for a model 3 to drive 100 miles, and $21.46 for a MachE. Thats more than 2x as much than the comparable Toyota Hybrids

Compared that to my gas car with 130K miles, I did oil changes, smog checks(CA), transmission fluid change, spark plugs replaced, alternator replaced, timing belt replaced, coolant change, air filter replaced multiple times, brake pads replaced, fuel filter replaced, etc. In short, I'm saving a bit of money with the EV. It's not all about the fuel.
