HLL2325DW Wireless 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0 & GDI ( uses host for print processing )

HLL2370DW Wireless 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet & PCL6

HLL2370DW $159 at Best Buy, worth the upgrade in my opinion.

~40% more to get Ethernet? Unless you really need it, not worth it in my opinion.

is this only black and white?
It's black only. The other color is dependent on the paper.

I don't know if it's a good price, but I've had my brother 2340 laser duplex for 10 years now. Still works perfect.

so tempted to get this to replace a inkjet with dried out cartridges but it seems like I print less and less each year. If it had a scanner built in though, I would be all over it
The 2390 and 2395DW show up pretty often, new or refurb'd.

Something to note, I love this printer, but I did have some issues with wireless . Could have been my network, but switching it to wired fixed everything.

No, the PCL6 vs GDI processing

Of course get what works best for you, spending an extra $50 or dealing with GDI over the lifespan of the printer.

One article that may help those not familiar

Puts all those old shitty printers we struggled with to shame. Happy with my purchase. A few occasions where I had to restart it but that's all

Same here. 2 years in. Initial set up kind of sucked but it prints 100% of the time on Wifi and comes out of sleep mode perfectly once disabled.

This printer model does not have an ethernet port.

I picked up a refurbished HL-L2325DW from Wal-Mart for $80 last year. I was having a ton of issues setting up the wireless connection. However, as soon as I did a factory reset, it connected without issue. One gotcha about the refurbished ones is that it doesn't include toner.

Brother toner is so expensive. If you're willing to try generic toner, don't stock up on them. Brother will quietly update these printers to only accept their own toner.

I'd like to stop using inkjet printers. I'm debating between this or an Epson EcoTank. (I can always keep my HP printer for scan/copy. )

Which would be better in terms of cost in the long term?

I've been using generic toner in these Brother printers for years. No problems ever.

As long as you get a generic with the chip, you should be fine.
