This printer does not have an Ethernet port. It only has wireless option.

I had a brother laser that was a hand-me-down from a friend. Worked perfectly for years. I was deployed and my mother threw it away because "the ink dried out" 🤦. It was probably out of toner. Would've been $30.

I've been running a 2170w for 12 years now. Replaced the toner a few years ago. Looks like the OEM cartridges are around $45 now. Still works good as new.

I have the Dell E310dw, which I believe is the rebadged version of this. Great printer. Bullet-proof performance. Have an old HP inkjet MF just to use as the occasional scanning needs. If you are on the fence about bailing from ink jet, make the jump, your wallet will thank you later.

If you are willing to pickup near the Long Beach airport during normal hours you can bid on used Brother HL-2300D. Probably $13 each plus 10% tax and 12.5% buyer's premium. The only reason for getting rid of them was that Brother stopped making official toner for them. They do the auction in batches so check back every 1-2 weeks.

Has anyone confirmed that this works on Windows 10/11 S Mode? I need to replace an HP that was supposedly compatible, but didn't work.

I have the same Dell 310 - bulletproof. I'm on my 3rd toner cartridge over 6yrs. Dirt cheap printing feels good.

I have an Epson AIO inkjet, only because it was free off of Craigslist. It still likes to clog on occasion but I keep it for it's scanning/copy function.

2240DW here! $50 then and still kicking, but the ethernet port has failed I think so its plugged into my server via USB.

Does this one have AirPrint? so I dont need to hack it through my synology?

Yeah, I have one I have been using for the last 2 or 3 years that was like $50 or $60, was surprised they had gone up so much when the fuser died and was deciding to buy the fuser or a new printer (turned out the part was less because the price of the printer had gone up by 100%)

I've had one of these for a couple of years and been really happy with it. Great, reliable no-frills printing. Despite the lack of color and copy/scan, I haven't missed our inkjet at all. So easy to scan via smartphone these days anyway.

Common problem with this printer is the deep sleep. It often won't wake up. You have to press the power button to wake it before it will print. Then the Brother software will come up with a goofy error on your pc even though it never finds an error. Well known issue Brother has not fixed to date. I own a few of these.
