13600k is less money, backwards compatible with ddr4, and performs better.
Intel is the way to go the generation, time to see those AMD discounts

This includes a new game being launched. That's a $70 value. With that factored in, you're basically paying $230 if you planned to buy it regardless.

13600k is 225 at microcenter. The game will be super discounted at launch and codes will be super cheap.

Dude the 13600k for 225 at microcenter is insane performance value. My kiddos rig has it running a 3090ti and it doesn't bottleneck at all at 4k/2k. Its a beast of a chip.

I have a 7900x/4090 build and there isnt any instance ive noticed a CPU boost from the 7900x. The 7900x is seriously only around 3% better for daily use and maybe 6% workload.

That chip is a killer.

This socket may only get one more generation or batch of refresh.

Either Intel or AMD is a solid choice this generation. It really comes down to:

Do you want to use your existing DDR4 or Mobo? Go Intel.

Don't care about the small premium for DDR5 or want some future-proofing on the platform? Go AMD.

Performance and price are so similar between Intel and AMD and the chips this gen are so good, no matter what you get.

I happened to go with AMD this gen because Microcenter footed the bill for the DDR5. If you live near a Microcenter, that might tip things toward AMD as long as they keep throwing out that RAM like candy.

They trade blows.

I'm guessing these price drops are making way for the 3D CPUs?

Yes. On nearly all metrics, the 13600k is a monster.
