Very well-reviewed vacuum according to Vacuum Wars [youtube.com]. Woulda bought this if I didn't get the Miele Triflex HX1 a few weeks ago.

Edit: mithrandir88 makes a good point that this may not be the same model
A quick Reddit search says that this guy used to work for Shark, thus there is concern of bias especially when many of his reviews strongly favor Shark. Any real life feedback on this compared to other top of the line cordless options?

Well that's certainly disconcerting, and I'll take his Shark rankings with a grain of salt. I wonder if his solo reviews of other brands can be trusted...

Not sure of other vacuum review sources; maybe someone else can chime in.

This is a missed opportunity for a Costco themed blue and red vacuum. 😂

Anyone know how this stacks up against the costco LG A916? I picked that thing up in store earlier this week for $300 and im not as impressed with it as i thought i would be. If this shark is about the same ill probaby stick with the lg for the charging stand but if the shark is actually better ill order one and return this thing.

i have the regular version and its a great device (brought it with multiple stacked promotions from BBBY, RIP.....). I was surprised at how this blows my old dyson (ball V8) out of the water for its size. For maneuverability, my dyson cannot hold a candle to this.

I have Shark ones. I love it especially the light in the head. You can really see the dirt.

So normally the top 2 cordless brands are Shark and Dyson. They both suck (up a lot of dirt) and do their job well. For both brands, you'll ideally need 2 batteries if you plan on doing a lot of vacuuming with it, like most of a house. Both brands start off expensive, but Shark often puts them on decent sales since their designs are mostly reused. Dyson doesn't really get less expensive or have any sales. They both have good hard floor capabilities if you use the soft brushroll Dyson or the Shark duoclean models (or the Apex, Vertex, or Stratos). They both deep-clean carpets very well for a cordless. My partner's family uses a few-year-old Dyson cordless and they enjoy it, although they have no carpet, which puts more strain on it. My parents have a Shark corded stick duoclean vacuum and I have the $200 corded Shark duoclean from Costco. I have carpet upstairs and they just have hard floor.

My main thing is the cordless Shark models with duoclean would cost like $250 on average (that I would buy) and the Dyson at the cheapest costs about $499. As long as you clean your filters often, both will last a while. Shark does offer more replacement parts than Dyson, so that is a big aspect too along with easier-to-find filters. I am not a sponsor for Shark or Dyson, as I don't care which you buy hah.

I didn't know this until now, but am taking it with a grain of salt. His reviews have a ton of quantitative analysis. So either a) the results are legit & comparable or b) he's faking results or c) he's geared his routine towards tests that he knows Shark will perform well in...

Make up your mind for yourself. I, for one, was not able to bring myself to buying a $500+ vacuum, and ended up with the Vertex from BB&B for $277 after Cap One cashback in November.

FWIW, we're happy with the vacuum's suction and runtime, but the clean sense IQ feature takes some time getting used to. It's still a little strange hearing the vacuum ramp up and down. We do not plan to buy any more odor neutralizers, so if I were in the market again I would be inclined to buy this version from Costco. The folding wand is nice for getting under furniture & storage.

This is not something he has hidden, he even mentioned it and addressed it before in a few older videos. As for the Sharks themselves they are very good vacuums as I had a shark for a long time and it beat out comparable dysons and hoovers. You can look at other reviews online for them and they all confirm but without as through testing that the shark is worth it. Rtings even has started reviewing vacuums along with other websites.

Forgot to mention I have a Shark Vertex Pro and after we received it we vacuumed with our hoover cordless air model and then we wanted to see what on our carpet the shark would pick up, it picked up a full bin worth of dirt after we thought the hoover cleaned everything. It picked up tons of those in carpet powders that make the carpet smell nice that might have been in the carpet for a long time cause we haven't used those products in awhile.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have this vacuum. I bought it since the wife complained about using two different vacuums (one for hardwood - cordless and another one for carpet - corded). It is the best vacuum I have owned so far. I have a corded Shark from years back that was okay but this Stratos blows it and everything else I have owned out of the water. Great on both hardwood floors and carpet. Can pick up cat litter and cereal up with no issues. I have gotten good battery life as well. I won't go back to corded vacuums.

I recently got the LG A916 too but LG Refurbished from Walmart for $179 and like it a lot. Maybe I just haven't tried others and don't know what I'm missing? What don't you like about it?

I bought a similar kind brand name with the same design and I can say, these vacuum looks really slick and cool, but that's about it. Don't do well on carpets and don't even think about vacuuming anything beyond crumbs and dust. My $50 Bissell bagless Powerforce eats just about anything, tissue paper, orange peels, whole oreo cookies, twinkie's wrappers, etc and I can buy 4 compares to the price of one of these designed. Hey but it looks really cool and high class.
