I've had this unit for ~3 years now, and can't substantiate many of the main problems amazon reviews callout (wifi failing, laser mapping failing, wrong mapping). The only issue I get sometimes is when starting the vacuum from the app, it starts up and moves off the dock 1ft, then returns home to the dock as if its finished cleaning, lol. Otherwise if I tell google assistant to "start cleaning" it works flawlessly. Very weird quirk
I have an old XV-21 that still work great. I just have to replace the batteries in it yearly. Obviously, It is a little dated when it comes to features- no connectivity, small dust bin and a few other things

I had XV-21 as well and had to swap batteries as well.
Swapped to D5 and its been running 3 years on its original battery so far and there are no signs its about to give up.

I second that. I had am issue with the side brush motor dying, and they sent a new unit. Otherwise I am happy with it
I had the same thought since the D8 for $199 popped up when I looked on Amazon. BUT it looks like the higher the number isn't necessarily better in this case.
The D7 was previously the flagship model, where as the D8 is the entry model of the new line of Neato vacs.
In addition to the smaller battery that was mentioned, it looks like the D8 does not have zone cleaning or multiple floor plans. Also sounds like the consensus on Reddit is that the new line of vacuums with the new app are worse than the old line.
I'm still on the fence if I want to jump on this deal since Neato's app seems to be pretty buggy, but the D7 sounds like it's much better than the D8 based off my research. YMMV

Quite a few in stock in Austin. The 3 yr extended warranty is an absolute must. I've had 2 Neato botvacs in the past, and needed constant warranty service. The machines themselves are great after getting fixed.
The warranty is awesome for getting a free battery replacement as the battery wears out after 2 years to only 10 mins.
What I paid $500 for I think is fairly priced at $200 because now you've got Roborock (much better) and self emptying for $300.

I guess no reason to go after an in-store YMMV D7 deal?

Nothing really jumping out at me for a great or even good buy, LIDAR (which it seems like this has) is a MUST HAVE for a vacuum, so thats a plus.
