I have the same feeling. After some thought gave up on it. No 22 in metric was also not welcome.

There shouldn't be any reason not to be able to get the 1/2" drive sockets onto your 1/2" drive impact, but if you were trying to get the 3/8" drive sockets on there, well that's.... a different story.

no, I tried the 1/2 inch and it didn't work. I'll get another set to test

It's most likely the fact that occasionally certain hog-ring anvils have a slightly expanded hog-ring on the impact, which often requires you to align the drive ends and then slam your palm hard on the front of the socket to seat it.
That's pretty normal for those who have been working with impacts all their life.

I can't see the quality control or machining being that 'off' on the socket's drive end to where "another set" would cure your issue.
Sounds like you're being 'too gentle' with them.99% of the time the problem is in the expanded hog-ring.

you are talking a $30 set vs. $100 set.

Sorry, but no. I have a set of SUNEX 1/4 and 3/8 ... both cost me much less than $100 and will last a lifetime. My Gearwrench 1/" set (weighs about 30 pounds) cost a few over $100.

The sockets listed in this thread are VERY LOW end. If you want to buy once and only once ... don't buy these.

I bought THE CHEAPEST set of 1/2" impact sockets on ebay about 5-6 years ago. I think I paid $13.00 for them shipped. It's a 12 piece Metric set with case. Been using the heck out of them since then. I do far more than your average shade-tree mechanic. I've done several suspensions, steering and axle work, motor mounts, etc,.. you name it. They are still going strong.

The 10mm is missing before you get it. It's less frustrating that way.

Looks like it skips 10, 19, and 22. There are standard size equivalents for those but I would find that very annoying personally.
It came with 10mm. It's just pre-lost.
