Deals like these are why I went with Ridgid. Maybe they're not always best (although this tool is their crown jewel and has a legitimate claim to one of the best high torque) but they're always damn good tools and if you're patient enough you can get everything you want at bottom tier tool prices. Definitely cementing itself as the best bang for your buck brand.

A lot of people don't want/can't justify paying for top tier but also don't want cheap garbage. Ridgid is the brand for folks like that. I used to be a fan of Kobalt, but their deals are so sporadic and vary based on location that it can be frustrating. Hercules new brushless line up intrigues me, but until they've proven themselves Ridgid is king in this market. The LSA is just the icing on the cake.

Wow, 5 years, good for them. That warranty is apparently new and only applies to certain tools, others are just 90 days.

There's really few problems with LSA, as long as people follow through on the registration. And when the batteries wear out, all batteries eventually do, a simple phone call gets new ones sent on their way.

Factory Blems from DTO can be registered for the LSA. There's even a DTO selection on the registration form for where it was purchased. And even though it says to mail in the receipt, I've always just uploaded it and if the registration hasn't processed in a few weeks, just send them a note asking them to review it and it goes right through.

Ordered but now I need a battery. I'd like the octane batteries hopefully they go on sale again soon. Or a super good deal on the high output batteries happens again.

I wonder if this is strong enough to take off the front sprocket retaining nutoff a sport bike.

My kawi was put on by a drunk gorilla and no impact or 4' extension is getting it off so far.

You must be thinking of Tools Direct, which can have great deals but a rather hit or miss reputation.

Factory blems from Direct Tools Outlet are indistinguishable from new. They probably are new overstock, just being sold as "blemished" as an excuse to be at the outlet store and so Home Depot doesn't have to price match them.
I watched a YouTube video where the host had talked with insiders at DTO. If Home Depot receives a skid and there's shipping damage on any one of the boxes on the skid, the entire skid is rejected. That's how they get labeled as "factory blemished" on DTO- because there was shipping damage on 1 box out of 20 on that skid for example.

I missed the newer model deal on HomeDepot for $155 with battery, charger and tool bad after hack. I'll wait for that deal again, the newer model is 2lbs lighter and real world test shows only 2% different in torque power compare to this older model.
Where did you find this? I have the new one and have heard the old one is stronger. But can't find anything to support either claim. My buddy has the old one. Lol

that deal's dead.
Already ordered the Ryobi when it was live. Have to decide if I'm going to keep the Ryobi vs ordering the ridgid...

I ordered the same tool last week at $120 free ship. Is it possible to get DTO to do a price match?
The price went down even b4 I got the tool. Called them and no price match. In fact, they don't even cancel the order..per se..

The old one is stronger. Power under the curve is where it really matters. Peak power is what's similar between the two. But that's at a 15sec run.

You'll also notice they use the 3ah octane battery on the news impact to get those numbers and it made a bit less with the new 4ah max battery.

yea def no need for both. Get one of the new brushless subcompacts instead. The 1/2" is quite strong. In the mid-torque category almost.

You say that like it's a bad thing? Sometimes the easiest way forward is to snap that sucker off and pound/drill it out.

I think it'll depend on what brand rabbit hole you'll go down with. I sat on that Ryobi deal too long. Will wait for the next.
