Deals like these are why I went with Ridgid. Maybe they're not always best (although this tool is their crown jewel and has a legitimate claim to one of the best high torque) but they're always damn good tools and if you're patient enough you can get everything you want at bottom tier tool prices. Definitely cementing itself as the best bang for your buck brand.

A lot of people don't want/can't justify paying for top tier but also don't want cheap garbage. Ridgid is the brand for folks like that. I used to be a fan of Kobalt, but their deals are so sporadic and vary based on location that it can be frustrating. Hercules new brushless line up intrigues me, but until they've proven themselves Ridgid is king in this market. The LSA is just the icing on the cake.

Wow, 5 years, good for them. That warranty is apparently new and only applies to certain tools, others are just 90 days.

There's really few problems with LSA, as long as people follow through on the registration. And when the batteries wear out, all batteries eventually do, a simple phone call gets new ones sent on their way.

Factory Blems from DTO can be registered for the LSA. There's even a DTO selection on the registration form for where it was purchased. And even though it says to mail in the receipt, I've always just uploaded it and if the registration hasn't processed in a few weeks, just send them a note asking them to review it and it goes right through.

Lol yeah. Maybe you know how to do that. I am going to have to say from experaince most people don't.
If you're in the rust belt and and work on 20 year old cars you learn. Obviously anyone who uses an impact wrench to tighten things has no business working on cars. The critical things like say exhaust manifold studs etc you could never ever fit this thing and you'd know not to snap cause getting them out of the block and be a ton of work. Through hole bolts on trailing arms/sway bars/exhaust/parts that are going in the scrap pile... You're probably going to break them with a breaker bar/spin the bushing anyway.

Obviously at DTO. It was a one day sale with a handful of 50% off that is now over. And the batteries were in store only at least by the time you posted. They do that alot despite their high shipping cost

Ordered but now I need a battery. I'd like the octane batteries hopefully they go on sale again soon. Or a super good deal on the high output batteries happens again.
I thought the octane batteries were discontinued?

The octane batteries are gone. They supposedly had a chip but also a different cell.TTC just use the octane battery in test because at the time they made their highest power with those packs.

Now the max output ones might be a little lower. You can do this deal/hack and get 2 6AMP max output for $95 after returning the midtorque.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGI.../319962264

Or if you want max torque the new max output 8AH will use the same 21700 cells type as the old octane 3AH. They were on sale during the DTO 40% off sale last week till they ran out. Probably pop up on and off.

There were some good battery deals from DTO yesterday but as usual limited/no shipping

Tends to happen when you look a day after the sale is over. There's been a lot going on with these rgid impact wrenches for the last three months though. May happen again. Maybe set an alert if you really want one instead of a knee jerk buy?

Kinda mad I didn't jump on this deal…but I have a Ridgid mid-torque I've barely used so difficult to justify buying this.

What a deal though

One thing to keep in mind when I did a bit of research is Ridgid (TTI) is not expanding (discontinuing) the Octane line

The octane line has been cancelled for quiet a while. The "octane" batteries used 21700 cells and a chip that could put out more power at the time. 21700 cells were not economical and chip shortages. Hence just going to normal high output 18650s. In the new max output.

Like all impacts the better the max discharge the better the tool performance. There's nothing wrong with the octanes. They chose one path then chose a different. But you want to use a max output battery with these and if you really care about peak torque maybe the new 21700. Cell max output 8 amp hour.

But no one needs that much torque. This is a good deal if you want/need the hi torque and have a good battery

They are all LSA

I don't see how you can get two 6ah for free. Just another tool and only the 4ah battery.

I did not say for free. I said you can get 2 6AH max output for $95. This is a very well known thing. Explained to death on slickdeals every single time. The mid torque is on "sale" for $249. With it you get a "free" tool. When you add them to your cart it will prorate the price. It's clearly visible in you cart. You don't get a "free" it's. You get the primary tool discounted and the second tool at a discount.

A simple example, if the first tool was $250 and the second "free" tool was $250 your cart/receipt would show $125 for each. You are free to return either and keep the other for $125.

In this case the mid torque is $249. The second "free" tool is the two pack of 6AH batteries. (There are other options you can do this with any of them) Your prorated price will be about
$95 for the batteries and $155 for the mid tourque. If you decide you don't want the mid tourque just return it. They are separate line items. You're fine as long as it's not sold as a package/on line item and you can see it in cart

They ran a 40% sale for the weekend then a separate very imited sale for this round. I don't you'll see an octane since they are discontinued. But HD had the new high torque issue my wl and the m2cins.p
