BTW, the additional cool advantage of it's "Active SHAKEDRY" (where the Gore-Tex _is the immediate outer layer) is that a DWR does not need to be applied on the outside- the droplets bead and fall off enough to keep the micro-pores open for max permeability (basically get very close to max breathability spec, as-stated when dry). Ultimate tropical monsoon shell (no insulation, yes?)
All other outer-shell materials will need a DWR (spray), else the droplets flatten/pool in-between the fabric mesh ... to become the weak link to let vapor thru.

No, of course we should continue to test/identify negative effects in its "bioavailability", and get the word out.
But you can't "do anything" with actionable focus- that un-specific distorted paragraph of apparent factoids lacking any metrics, ranking/degree. There are over 8,000 materials under the PFAS family- all equally harmful? Pointing to production of Gore-Tex "as one reason" of undeclared contributor.

Could have mentioned a handful of harmfuls, two being PFOA / PFOS, which were banned in the US around 2013. Or that Gore-Tex (PTFE/expanded-Teflon) is totally inert/stable in the human body (medical use around blood vessels, heart), but then its environmentally "persistent" with a very long half-life.
BTW, I'm using those big words ... the same big words Gore and Greenpeace used in a joint "PFCs of environmental concern" paper establishing a criteria (usefully) _ranking the many PFCs. This cooperation was after pressure from Greenpeace and capitulation from Gore that started a phase-out of PFC use on their DWR coating. Several years before the FDA ban on PFOA, Gore was phasing that out, and was always good with waste chemical handling.
Could have mentioned PFOA use in the carpets, automotive, and not to lick the fireman's turnout/bunker gear, especially after using firefighter foam to save the life of babies trapped in an auto-accident .. make that carnage in an airplane disaster (tug at the emotions to sway/force a stance?, anyone can do this, it's on like Donkey-Kong). Or don't be a Ski-waxing technician.
And then mention- if Gore does fail in marketplace performance when substituting out all PFAS (in 2022) it uses, which then the lucrative e-PTFE clothing market will be fulfilled by importers that have _unrestricted PFAS use on their inefficient production of quasi-PTFE, generating tons more waste with little to no controls/oversight.
And then mention that when there is a fixation on fixing "forever" plastics, and the rush to a solution ended up being GenX - now discovered as the "Regrettable Substitute" - _that got into the water, soil, air in a worse way.
The complex balance of "solving" safely-inert-but-persistent, with formulating-in a short half-life breakdown, BUT needing the time to do bio-chemical projections on how bioavailable those broken-down components are, and what is the reaction .. shows we need to understand the specificity of the system, and fund it with a dime for every heckler's vague statements.

I was going to say this was just an informed debate, but as it was so one-sided, there is only an appearance of an attack, because I cannot possibly attack - as I am trying my best to qualify my steadfast ... stance.

If you're looking for a similar material that's a bit more affordable, Columbia developed a DWR-free 100% waterproof breathable shell material called OutDry years back. I've been using it for a few months in Portland winter and haven't been disappointed.
If I hadn't got that one, I probably would have leaned towards one of the newer hyper breathable membranes like Neoshell, Ascentshell, Pertex Shield "Air" or Futurelight.
