Probably not by a lot. I got the microcenter deal for around $1407 including taxes.
I don't think it'd go below that by a lot for similar specs for a while at least.
Prices have actually increased for amd advantage edn laptops (g14, legion 7 slim, legion 7 which is back in stock again), but amd + nvidia ones are still showing some discounts though not by a lot.
I think a lot of intel + nvidia ones would see discounted prices because there's no shortage of them. And they are indeed better if you're looking for desktop replacements.

A lot of people complained about getting laptops that had marks like oil spills. Not used or refurbished ones, the ones sold as brand new.
Not sure if they have improved, but lenovo has still got them as an authorized seller.

I mean, I'm not necessarily sticking up for the guy, but he's got a 98.8% positive feedback rating from selling 338,316 items, so you would think he's gotta be doing something right, right? If he was really doing messed up stuff and screwing people over, wouldn't his number be much much lower and or possibly kicked from selling on ebay?

That's probably why someone asked if they got whitelisted again lol.
Anyway I really don't have any idea if the seller got better or worse over time considering the facts you mentioned, if the bad reviews are clustering towards a recent timeline, then I'd stay away from such a seller and wait for some other deal to show up.

PSA: my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is the worst computer I've every owned. Screen died ; replaced under warranty by an onsite tech with a non-calibrated screen that threw errors in the graphics software that shipped with the laptop. Lenovo refused to fix that.
Now, wireless card "died". Replaced by onsite tech under extended warranty. Still doesn't work. The guy shrugs and tells me Lenovos are Chinese crap, there's nothing he can do, and best of luck. Leaves.
After hours of research and experimentation, I discover there's some conflict with the BIOS and the hardware. I get card working. Lenovo phone support denies the whole problem and tells me they don't support "software".
Don't fall for the impressive looking hardware specs. Buy a reliable brand like Dell. Trust me.
And my issues weren't just me ; I was able to find reports of others with the same issues online.

I returned a L5P to Antonline last year (nothing wrong with it, I just changed my mind) and got hit with a restocking fee on the basis that the returned unit "showed signs of wear" according to Ant. Fortunately, I knew this was not the case, as I had barely used the device and had taken clear photos of the unit, both turned on and off, before I shipped the return. So I opened an eBay case and won, got my full refund, but it was a small hassle. To be fair, I see nothing wrong with restocking fees if a seller clearly indicates that returns of units that work fine would be subject to a restocking fee. We're in an era of too much online purchasing, and hassle-free returns that is creating a ton of waste (packaging, shipping fuel costs and pollution, and semi-used devices that lead to more junk). And because of the faceless nature of online shopping, the return rates in retail have skyrocketed. High return rates create more costs for sellers/manufacturers, which they would just pass on to consumers. However, if an item is defective there should 100% be no restocking fee.

I've read about nvidia drivers not installing on 5 pro in the lenovo website.
As for the wifi card, an intel wifi 6e card starts at $18 on amazon. You can install it yourself easily.
Way better than the mediatek card that comes preinstalled.

There is no 'reliable' brand for windows pcs.
Whether it is dell or hp or lenovo, they all have their issues.
Honestly you're less likely to run into issues if you buy the mid-range ones like Acer swift series (3 or maybe 5, not 7).
Dell offers good customer 'support' like placebo treatments with snake oil and overcharges you. And you pay intel tax as well because they only have intel in all of their good models (which is probably not limited to Dell, but still an XPS 13 has it's reputation for being the most premium windows laptop).
If you search for it, you'd find statistical data telling you that there's not much difference in quality control when it comes to pcs. It all comes down to which is less shittier than the other.
Apple probably has it better though after changing from intel to m1/m2.

I read that the L5P shipped with the Intel chip for some and the Mediatek for some. I got the Mediatek. They replaced it with the Mediatek and the new one wouldn't work, either, so it wasn't the card. I troubleshot everything in Windows I could find and nothing worked. The working theory online is that something causes the card to go to sleep and then it can't wake back up. Since none of the Windows settings helped, I booted into BIOS to look around. The was a BIOS setting about the wifi being allowed to sleep but it was disabled. So I enabled it, rebooted, no change. Then I re-disabled it, rebooted, and Bam, the card started working. 🤷🏻 That led me to the conclusion the fault is in the BIOS or between the BIOS and the card.

I guess your warranty would be void if you install an intel wifi even if you ask someone at an authorized service centre to install it?
Usually there's no hassle if you just replace the mediatek card with intel.
But the issue you faced sounds similar to what I had with a Qualcomm atheros wifi module I had 😂

Is anyone else seeing this item as "Almost gone" on the Ebay listing? I checked it through someone else's account and it said "more than 10 available", but it says "Almost gone" for me???

Please check this out before buying anything from AntOnline, never seen so many users complained about a seller on eBay.

Why would ebay suspend your account?
