This doesn't seem like a slick deal to me. I think the 7.1 TSR-700 at Costco goes on sale for $400.00 once in a while and the 5.1 RX-V385 was recently on sale at Bestbuy for $199.00. I don't use a receiver's internet connection so I snagged an open box RX-V385 for $155.00.

Paid $330 for the TSR-700 (aka V6A) at Costco and was too glitchey for my tastes. Walked in to Costco with my Yamaha, walked out with a Onkyo. MUCH better of a receiver in about every category.

I did the same thing but I purchased both the Yamaha and the Denon before settling on the Onkyo.

I can agree here. I have the TSR-7850, which is the older entry level Yamaha that Costco had a couple years ago. A friend purchased the TSR-700 based on the recommendation of my positive experience. They definitely lowered the bar on this generation at this price point. Head towards Onkyo or Denon for entry level spec receivers.

I think all of those issues have been resolved with firmware upgrades. I have the TSR-700 and have had zero problems with it. It sounds fantastic, it was a great deal at $400. I know there were issues in the past, but if you're looking now, this is a great option.
