Decent deal on "grade a" Optiplex Windows Pro desktop for $319 (519 with 200 off).
i7-8700 with 32gb ddr4 w/old 2gb radeon r5 430, and 512GB ssd. USB-C w/displayport for 3rd out = very decent little triple-monitor stock-trader and number-crunching workstation for $320 shipped.
Always liked the i7 8700; this antique should crunch numbers swimmingly for the next decade. RAM and CPU alone get you to over $300. Decent deal--needed a cheap workstation that still had some grunt.
Glen's an expert and taught me about getting the cashback. First register with Cap On Shopping. Don't need to be a Cap One card user. Search Dell Refurb cashback offerings. May not get much many times. Keep checking. One day, you'll get a 20%/30%/40% offering. It may not need to be for the exact product you're looking for. For example, I chose a laptop cashback and got the cashback for a non-laptop. I'm not sure how Cap One would know by just a transaction total. It'll take 5-7 days likely to see it in Cap One. Then it will take awhile before you can convert it to a gift certificate for a vendor.
Like all cashbacks, it's not perfect; but Capital One is a large reliable financial institution. If you've done it correctly, they're not going to deny it later.
Don't hate the cashback if it only shows you 5% or whatever. Just keep trying every day or a few times a day. Add something to the Dell Refurb cart then remove it. Play with it. With modern AI these days, they'll get a signal that you didn't make a purchase and suddenly you get a better cashback (only a guess).
Choose the Dell Refurb deals regardless of the cashback. However, if you get a 15%-40% cashback, it's gravy. You know that with Cap One you'll get the credit eventually - as long as it shows up within a week. If it doesn't show up as a pending within a week, then you might not have done it right. Maybe you were trying to work more than one cashback, or you deleted the cookies before purchasing from Dell Refurb. Whatever.
If you want a seasoned expert's advice, ask Glen.

Will Chase Offers (5% for Dell) apply to refurbished? I may pull the trigger on a 7400 latitude (2 in 1) with a gen 8 i7, but still on the fence. Also hoping Ra ku 10 goes back up to 10% again.
It says no in the fine print, but I got $30 back on 2x 5300 2-in-1. One was in good shape with low charge cycles on battery, the other one passed all memory/HD tests but the battery had 134 recharge cycles and is down to 65% so it's obviously well-used. I sent them the battery report. Unfortunately, they have no more batteries, so they refunded me the price of a third party OEM supplier and I'll probably just get a generic when it's time to replace it (but kind of skeevy on generics now after news reports about lithium batteries kersploding more often lately). It actually holds up 3 hours, which is more than I would expect since the 94% battery on the other one lasts a little over 4 hours. They were B-grade but came in great condition.

Ahhhh ok. I guess I'll wait and hope ra ku 10 comes out with a 10% again. Love it when they have 10% or more especially since I get it as MR points which is worth double or more.
Suffered buyer's remorse about 10 minutes after ordering and found out there is no way to cancel the order on line once placed. They are only taking calls M-F, so I guess I'm out a 15% restocking fee. I have gotten all my computers via Dell Refurbished in the past, but after doing post purchase research, many eBay vendors offering comparable pricing with better terms. Live, learn, and pay I guess.

I guess it depends on what you buy and what quality you expect. I've personally over the last few years had horrid luck with used workstation laptops on eBay.

Who did you email to report the battery issue? I bought a latitude 7390 2in1 and the battery is trashed. Only 34000 total charge of the 60000 mah the battery is supposed to come with. Was it just the general dell support?

I don't think the "contact us" form does has an option for attachments.

I decided to pull the trigger and picked up a Latitude 7400 2-in-1 last night. Got the 8th gen i7 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, Grade B. Came out to $348 shipped after taxes. Used my CFU to pay with 5% chase offer activated so I'm hoping I get 5% UR points back. Also 'ra ku 10' had 10% back so I got 3190 MR points, which is valued at least 2cpp (~$64) so great deal especially if I get 5% UR which again if valued at 2ccp is another ~$35 basically bringing the price down to ~$250.
Got the latitude 7420 today, Grade A, $789 - 40% code - 30% cb. It looks brand new with one and a half year ProPlus warranty left. But the battery is at ~70% capacity, will complain to them and see what they can do.
There are more than 10 left currently but no active 40% code.
An update, I received my replacement battery for latitude 7420 yesterday. A quick check showed >97% capacity and it took me 7 hours to burn it (movie, game...) to 10%.
These 7420 are pretty good, the build quality is similar to macbook pro, but they raised the price from 789 to 849... have to wait for 40 to 50% codes.
Not a huge fan of how they are using FEDEX and not allowing my with my account to sign for the item before time or make any changes. This is going to be a total PITA for me. I live in a town of 3500 people and there is zero reason for sig req on a 300$ package here.
Also they never answer the phone or emails. Pathetic.

FedEx just threw the boxes at the door and ran, so ten to one you won't have to anyway. There's been about a 12-36 hour turnaround on emails for me, but it probably depends on who's working that day and how much work they've gotten.

Still waiting to receive my batter. It was shot at only 50% capacity. They said they would let me know when a new one ships but that was a couple days ago. How long did you have to wait?

Replied in one day, shipped the battery two days later, and delivered five days later by fedex, but it could depend on the battery model I guess.

Dell refurb are 3+ years old and they have fake prices with coupons EVERY week. 30-40% off is normal
