Decent deal on "grade a" Optiplex Windows Pro desktop for $319 (519 with 200 off).
i7-8700 with 32gb ddr4 w/old 2gb radeon r5 430, and 512GB ssd. USB-C w/displayport for 3rd out = very decent little triple-monitor stock-trader and number-crunching workstation for $320 shipped.
Always liked the i7 8700; this antique should crunch numbers swimmingly for the next decade. RAM and CPU alone get you to over $300. Decent deal--needed a cheap workstation that still had some grunt.
Glen's an expert and taught me about getting the cashback. First register with Cap On Shopping. Don't need to be a Cap One card user. Search Dell Refurb cashback offerings. May not get much many times. Keep checking. One day, you'll get a 20%/30%/40% offering. It may not need to be for the exact product you're looking for. For example, I chose a laptop cashback and got the cashback for a non-laptop. I'm not sure how Cap One would know by just a transaction total. It'll take 5-7 days likely to see it in Cap One. Then it will take awhile before you can convert it to a gift certificate for a vendor.
Like all cashbacks, it's not perfect; but Capital One is a large reliable financial institution. If you've done it correctly, they're not going to deny it later.
Don't hate the cashback if it only shows you 5% or whatever. Just keep trying every day or a few times a day. Add something to the Dell Refurb cart then remove it. Play with it. With modern AI these days, they'll get a signal that you didn't make a purchase and suddenly you get a better cashback (only a guess).
Choose the Dell Refurb deals regardless of the cashback. However, if you get a 15%-40% cashback, it's gravy. You know that with Cap One you'll get the credit eventually - as long as it shows up within a week. If it doesn't show up as a pending within a week, then you might not have done it right. Maybe you were trying to work more than one cashback, or you deleted the cookies before purchasing from Dell Refurb. Whatever.
If you want a seasoned expert's advice, ask Glen.

Still waiting to receive my batter. It was shot at only 50% capacity. They said they would let me know when a new one ships but that was a couple days ago. How long did you have to wait?
I waited 3 days to hear back and then they said none were available, linked me to a 3rd party OEM seller, and offered a refund for that price plus a little more for shipping (probably wouldn't have been enough). So I took it. I can get a generic later, though I would have preferred to just get an OEM battery.

Oh bummer. My oem replacement actually just shipped out tonight. Once that arrives should be a nice little laptop for $200+ $50 1tb nvme + $13 Wi-Fi 6 card.
Thanks OP!
I guess I am late to the party - Judging by the post (about the 7520 which is gone now), looks like all the good deals were scooped up already.
For example, as an extra laptop, I purchased an Inspiron 5410 with 8GB from Dell directly Brand New last year (SD Hot Deal). Think it was around $328 after discount and CB. (I upgraded to 24GB of RAM with Crucial RAM - easy DIY upgrade).
This Dell Refurb deal has this Inspiron 5410 laptop for $739 (Grade B) to $809 (Grade A).
If you subtract the $200 coupon, that is still $539 and up for refurbs of a machine that is now older too (in terms of CPU generation e.g.) than last year.
RAM is 16GB for 2 of the 4510 refurbs (so 8GB more than last year's new deal) and the SDD is a bit bigger, but still not a good deal for a refurb of a now older model for over $200 more than last year's, admittedly, great deal for a Brand New machine.

How long does it take for the CB to show up? I made a purchase on the 18th. Workstation was shipped yesterday but no CB yet.
It says no in the fine print, but I got $30 back on 2x 5300 2-in-1. One was in good shape with low charge cycles on battery, the other one passed all memory/HD tests but the battery had 134 recharge cycles and is down to 65% so it's obviously well-used. I sent them the battery report. Unfortunately, they have no more batteries, so they refunded me the price of a third party OEM supplier and I'll probably just get a generic when it's time to replace it (but kind of skeevy on generics now after news reports about lithium batteries kersploding more often lately). It actually holds up 3 hours, which is more than I would expect since the 94% battery on the other one lasts a little over 4 hours. They were B-grade but came in great condition.
I think the 5300 2-in-1 (at as low as $249 after discount) are arguably one of the best buys for anyone shopping the productivity PC for "kids/parents/grandma/etc.". Any notes on the keyboard or other plastics as it relates to the Grade B rating?

So far I mostly like it. When I was setting it up, the fans ran nonstop and I was really concerned it would always be like that. Actual use (Office 2003, LibreOffice, OnlyOffice [not Open, Only has best docx compatibility but is slow], Edge with 2-10 tabs, Firefox w/50+ tabs, Acrobat 9, and a few antique Win3.x interface work programs), the fan only turns on for a short time now and then. One thing that concerns me is it's making "HDD write noises". I've had SSDs that make noise [yes, this can happen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS-BHI667po ] but it actually makes noise on "changes in use". Double-clicking to enter a folder makes a write noise, large volume copying is silent after the initial noise. I didn't remember it making the noise during setup. I finally noticed that the noise is much quieter (but still present) when the laptop isn't plugged in, so it has something to do with the power filtering. I'm not sure if this is something to be concerned about. It passed memtest86 and various other stress tests. I use it with a KVM, but the keyboard seems similar to my old Pentium 11" Dell 2-in-1. It's "sufficient". I don't think you could get a great keyboard on a tiny laptop, even the all-metal ones, though I guess if you have small hands the chiclet keys wouldn't be so much of a problem (I am amazed that people actually buy 'laptop style' keyboards for desktops, I can't imagine doing any kind of long-term typing on those!) I didn't notice any particular 'weakness' or 'flexing' while I was setting it up before hooking it up to the KVM.

What are the options to purchase OS for these no-OS machines? How do I know if they are compatible with Win11?
I'm always curious about No OS machines. For a high end server, maybe it never had Windows at all, but for the consumer-level machines, I do wonder if it ever had a Windows installation on it, if trying to install 8 or 10 would validate the hardware has a key, then you could upgrade it to 11. You need an 8th gen processor for 11. There are a very tiny amount of 7th gens that are technically compatible, but I wouldn't buy below 8th gen.

Dell refurb are 3+ years old and they have fake prices with coupons EVERY week. 30-40% off is normal

It showed up as the reward about one month later.
