Unless you go through a 40oz bag every week this stuff is going to be seriously stale by the time you finish the first bag, especially if you bought one of the pre-grounds.

One week? Who told you that? If you store it in a airtight container it should stay fresh for 3 to 4 months. I go thru about 10 ozs. a week.

Generally coffee is considered stale after a week or two. Oof you are adding milk or making lattes etc, imho it doesn't matter. I have bags that are a year old and are fine, imho. Expensive single-origins are a different story, but they are $40+/lb.
Starbucks coffee taste burnt / Charcoaled to me . Anyone else feel the same ?
One hundred percent. In the coffee world that's pretty much how they're known.
I work in an independent cafe. Once in a while a customer will come in with a bag of Starbucks beans and sheepishly say they got it as a gift or something and ask if we can grind it for them. We will, but man, usually that stuff smells atrocious. I'm used to the different coffees we grind all day all smelling amazing, but in comparison, to me any Starbucks dark roast beans smell like a mix of yesterday's campfire ashes and weird fishiness.
If anyone is going for this deal and isn't sure which to get, unless you know you definitely like the flavor of Starbucks dark roasts, I would strongly recommend going for the PIke Place. It's the only one I find even remotely drinkable.
