This is waste of money and effort. Please get a reverse osmosis filter if you are serious about getting good quality water. I would recommend APEC ROES 50
I think you mean a reverse osmosis system. If so, you're correct. This really doesn't eliminate toxins. It's more to change the flavor
Let's not act like all water filters are the same. Brita barely filters anything. Pur is objectively a far better water filter than Brita, both the pitcher and faucet types. Better than pur would be reverse osmosis.
Edit:
Brita has 5 ANSI/NSF certifications for the standard pitcher filter.
Pur has 13 ANSI/NSF certifications for the standard pitcher filter.
Brita has 30 ANSI/NSF certifications for their Longlast filter.
Pur has 42 ANSI/NSF certifications for the Pur Plus filter.
Brita has 56 ANSI/NSF certifications for their faucet filter.
Pur has 71 ANSI/NSF certifications for their faucet filter.

I was told a 5 filter system was minimum standard for great water filtration, am I missing something?
We just got an RO system from Costco for $200. It is only 3 stage but water tastes much cleaner now than the 1 stage filter with UV light bs we had prior. Checked PPM of water and it is 0. Filters are cheaper than previous unit by a lot but still need to change stage 1 every 6 months, stage 2 every 2 years, and stage 3 every year according to manual.

For what its worth, the battery in mine died so the light doesn't work anymore and it isn't user serviceable.
