Yes .. basically return and buy again
Yes order it online- easier to get price adjustment with online chat support
No need to return. They will adjust and give you the difference. I usually buy items that I know are coming on sale a few days in advance and always get the best pick and then get my adjustment. Why scramble on morning item goes on sale and be forced to get item at an inconvenient location? Same goes for Costco.
They likely will. Amazon's sales are usually just price-matching big retailers like Target, Best Buy and Walmart.
Why do you prefer to buy them from Amazon? Just curious.

Be careful with Amazon orders. The last time I purchased the 1st gen AirPods Pod 2 years ago, it came as brand new and the package looked unopened, but when we tried to pair it, it had someone else's name on it! So Amazon had lied and sold us a RETURNED item as a brand new item!

I got AirPod 2nd gen from amazon on thanksgiving and no issues.
How do you check warranty left on device?
This doesn't sound right. As far as I know the warranty should begin when you purchase and/or activate the device.
