I have this, bought when walmart had it on sale for 149. I worn my watch since 10am, it's 8pm now and it's down to 82%. I don't have battery issues that people speak of but it did have a hard time setting up initially. But it's working just fine now.
Same exact experience here. My watch is only a couple weeks old... but so far the battery has been great. Gets me through a day, and could probably go 2. Love the whole watch really.

I'm in the market for my first smartwatch and saw this deal. Looks like battery life is a concern, but I really like the look of it. I've got a 6.5in wrist so I think the 42mm should fit nicely. I think prices are comparable on eBay, but I like the 30 day return window with Walmart. Interested to hear other opinions.
I have the 46mm. Wife has the 40mm non classic. Battery is fine. I'm at 60 to 80% at end of day. The only issue is continually being away from phone...like all day. That will eat into battery as it's always trying to connect. LTE models are most of battery issue. This is true on most or all smartwatches from what I gather. You won't regret the purchase. The silver 42 is not matte BTW. It high gloss and looks incredibly high end.

The battery is not the best, but once you remove the apps you won't use it will last at least 2-3days before charging maybe even 4days.
Is wear os any better? Still using the frontier and battery and performance is still good. The Google watch os seemed to be the battery killer when I tried Samsung watch with it. Love the Samy watches but dislike performance with wear os.

Turning off motion activated screen lighting increases it a lot. I just touch the screen instead. Having the screen timeout shorter, and the screen slightly less bright I can go 4 days no problem. I also don't check the time, or biometrics every 5 minutes like some people. It's my third Samsung watch, so I've been down this road before.

When I was at Costco the other day, I think it was the Galaxy Watch 5 (not the pro) on sale for $210.
Is it worth going that route for the newer model and Costco warranty, or is the 4 the way to go?
I use a Pixel phone. Will this Samsung watch give me any issues because I don't use the Samsung ecosystem?
I've watched a lot of YouTubes recently, and think Pixel Watch needs another year of improvement, and $350 is a lot for it.

Some features won't work without a Samsung phone like ECG heart readings,

Does that mean you can't use it for checking heart rate? Or more advanced heart readings like if you wanted to use a chest strap or something?

I bought my Watch 5 not knowing this.
I thought all I needed was a watch with the ECG capability.

Fortunately, I have the low-end Samsung Galaxy A11 and a charger with a USB-C port.

I have silver 42mm LTE I got off Amazon. Battery is terrible ASF. LTE is turned off. I even tried and setup them in eco mode, but why I need such smartwatch if I need to turn off almost all of its functionality?!

Have a week to return it back to Amazon. Was waiting for any good trade-in offers from Samsung. But they greedy and even now with announcement of S23 no decent deals at all.

Pals, who made this Watch work for more than a day, please share what you did to make it happen.

This was dropped to $199 around BF. Nice to see it drop a bit more.

I still opted for the GW5 from Costco for $250, I believe. I think the Classic looks a bit better but the GW5 had a few more features that the 4 an 4 Classic didn't.

Good deal for $170. I read about battery life issues on this model. My GW5 lasts me about 2.5 days before it's in single digit battery life and that's with all features enabled. I do have lift-to-wake disabled though so the screen turns on only if I tap it or if I get a notification and lift my wrist to check it within about 5 seconds.

If the operating system wasn't so buggy I'd buy a second one because it's the best looking smart watch Samsung has made (my opinion only of course). But the battery issues that are so common are the deal killer. I love the one I have and wear it every day but come on- a watch that loses 12% of it's battery overnight in sleep mode with sleep tracking and all other services turned off? That is just pathetic and there's no excuse. It's a very immature operating system.

I bought the 46mm version last month, my first real smartwatch. I'm impressed. To me, one main benefit is that I leave my phone in my pocket, which prevents me from wasting time on my phone. Battery life isn't great, but it's fine for me. I don't use it heavily and I usually have 60-70% battery left at bedtime. I'm guessing I could get 2 full days on a charge. It's not an issue, being that I charge it every night. The dial ring on the classic is great. It makes it feel and look less like a smartwatch, which I like. Once I add a leather band, it will look even nicer.
Same. I got one of these about a month ago. It's great. I have about 60-70% battery before bed. The battery isn't as good as the Garmin watches but it's still about two days which is fine for me. The screen on this watch is much nicer than the Garmin watches. Updating the firmware was a pain. I had to go through 5-6 firmware updates back to back when I got the watch and each takes about 20 minutes.
