We have a childhood obesity crisis right now and you're worried about how 'unhealthy' it is to promote thinness. Unreal.
Sucralose can change the gut microbiome without being absorbed.
That's one way to sweeten your poop...

This is interesting. I'm going to look for these studies because from personal experience, I only consume sugar free this past year and I went to the hospital with severe inflammation just a month ago, but was having loose, frequent, bloody stools for several months before that. Inflammation in my intestines and colon, as well as ulcers. No known cause, but that was the only thing that had changed in my diet. I went from only drinking water and eating real sugar to drinking zero sugar sodas and foods. My microbiome was definitely messed up. I wonder if this could be related? 🤔 Otherwise, I'm a healthy person, exercise a few hours a week, eat my veggies, minimal carbs. Now I am on steroids to fight inflammation and they're saying it is likely ulcerative colitis. But there are no definitive tests for UC even with biopsies. It would be interesting to see if there is a link between sugar substitutes and the microbiome in some research. Because they don't know enough about Ulcerative Colitis and say there is no known cause, it just can happen. I dunno. Seems murky to me. 😅
That's strange to me because using sucralose allowed me to lose 80lbs and keep it off for the last 5 years. I am in a healthy weight BMI thanks in part to the lower calories offered from sucralose. I guess I must be alone in the benefits of sucralose.
