Regarding auto-activation / autopay - if you ported in a number, you are probably safe.
If you chose to get a new number, then your service will activate automatically and you will need to chat/call to cancel autopay. (It seems like chat is easier than calling)

Note that one has a 3rd party battery, as I got the warning, and the other has battery health of 83%. I'm guessing they replace the battery if health is less than 80%.
I don't think there was a color option; both phones I got are black.
I set up both phones on wi-fi before inserting a sim card and checked the sim status in the settings. Then I inserted a non-Boost sim to test. I tested with Cricket and Mint sims and both worked fine.
The bodies of each had minor scuffs and scratches, with the screens in very good condition. Screens also appeared to be original, as the "true tone" option is available on both. Face ID worked fine on both as well.
They came in plain white boxes with a Boost sticker on top and had an OEM usb-a lightning cable with a generic charging brick. (if it's not an OEM cable, it sure looks and feels like one)
$100 is a killer deal for a used, unlocked iPhone Xr, and this one includes 3 months of coverage.

These were both under the same promo so it's not consistent. If you do this and don't see the cheaper options, towards the end of the 90 days I would contact support and ask for the port out pin. Tell them the reason is you can't switch to the cheaper plans so you're leaving to a cheaper carrier; they might open up all the options up for you to keep you with Boost.
Anyone looking for a device for 3 months and free service should jump on this.
Overall a great back up phone. I kept one on former trade-ins, I'm anti-ios guy as a daily driver, but highly impressed by the ability to keep up with today's world.
Sounds like the Boost terms say an unlock requires 12 months of active service, does anybody have any experience with this, i.e. might the phone unlock in 12 months even with just the 3 initial months of service?
Of course, let's hope everybody ends up getting shipped a beautiful unlocked one

So what's the verdict re: unlocking? Is it 12 months of active service from Boost or just 12 months after purchase (no service after the initial 3 months)? Assuming we don't get lucky and the phone comes unlocked...
