It is "extreme" based on specs. But one of the reviewer confirmed my suspicion: thermal throttling. Just because one can fit a power GPU in a super thin and light chassis does not mean one should.

Can't speak for this model as I have the Gen 3... but yes, thermal throttling is a significant issue if pushing the system. In addition, the vents are awkwardly placed such that you really must have the lid opened upright to get the best thermals. If you use the laptop with the lid closed, you will most assuredly be thermal throttled for even the simplest usage.
(Bought it on sale when it first came out, which was still expensive but it met my needs where other laptops did not).
Solid laptop with good build quality, a great keyboard, 16" screen for productivity and easy to upgrade the RAM (went to 32GB; bought the 16GB Micron stick at B&H for a great price) and easy to add a second NVMe SSD (bought a cool running 1TB drive at Amazon).
I do not push the system and do not game on it; rather, I bought this laptop because I specifically wanted the Thinkpad keyboard along with the build quality, upgrade options (DIY upgrades to avoid Lenovo's upgrade prices) and the 16" matte screen (better aspect ratio for productivity); I was happy it came with an nVidia RTX GPU.
That said, depending on your needs, for those wanting the ultimate in performance, there are better alternatives (that throttle less).
This comes with 11th gen Intel CPU, very important detail that is omitted from the ad. 12th gen is a significant jump from 11th.
I was just going to post the same thing - this is NOT a good deal at all. It should have 12th gen - if not 13th gen at this point. Lenovo makes great laptops - all that I buy. But I would stay away as this model is several years old CPU wise. That's why it's 60% off.

It is a fingerprint magnet though.
