The nice thing about AAFES, is they drop ship directly from Apple. So I think anyone who managed to place an order (inc myself) there before they stopped taking new ones is like 99% likely to get them.

I thought about upgrading the shipping to overnight in hopes it ships instead of being canceled but they wanted $90 for that. I'll go with free shipping and hope it works out. If it doesn't then no big deal.

The screen on the 12.9 is significantly better than the 11" model. Not just brightness. It's a significant bump in specs which they held back on the 11" model (2 models in a row now).

Whether or not that is worth the $150 difference is up to the individual. Personally, I think the biggest question someone needs to ask is which size model they would prefer, as the 12.9" might be too big for some people, whereas the 11" could be too small. I've always gotten the 11" model since I like that form factor -- which is why I am pissed Apple didn't include the XDR display in it. But for this deal, I went with the 12.9" since I already have the 11 (M1) and was willing to try the bigger/better screen for $550.

Apple won't put mini led in the pro 11" but in 2025 they will put micro led in them. Until then expect only 12.9 and MacBook pro 14/16 to be mini led.

I got AAFES to price match around 1:30 PT and the lady said I was the last one before they stopped price matching TigerDirect. They said the were having issues placing the order so I placed it myself and had them credit back the difference. I don't see any price changes on my online receipt. Anyone else in the same situation?
