  • A nice deal considering the 1 year of service included. It could make a nice temporary or emergency phone as well.

Not sure how to clarify it any more. As Oregon14 said, do NOT move SIM cards.

Step One: Activate the TCL and click "I want to keep my number." After you finish the all the steps, the TCL will have your current number and service time added to the service that came with the TCL.
Step Two: On a different day, go into your Tracfone account. You will see your current device now listed as inactive. Click activate and "I want to keep my number" and that will move everything back from the TCL to your current device.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. If you move the service by activating with a transfer, that is totally legitimate and not risky. The only potential risky behavior is just taking the SIM from this phone and just sticking it in another device.

Yea. Should be 60 days after activation.

You probably have to request the unlock

even IF it's unlocked, it would only work in Verizon network because other carriers don't have it in their data base.

Not a good phone however you could buy a sim card and use another phone if you have one. Great price for the minutes.

How do you use the minutes on another phone? I thought the minutes were pre loaded on this phone bundle.

I have 2 Orbic TF flip phones from the 2 for $30 HSN deal. I took the sim card from 1 of the Orbic phones and put it it an unlocked Moto G6 smart phone and it works fine. $15 for 1200 minutes, 1200 text, and 1200 MB for 1 year is a great deal. The Moto G6 is better for texting and apps and internet.
I also have a TCL flip TF phone that I was able to unlock and it works fine with a TMO sim card.

The safest way is to activate this phone. Then buy a $1 BYOP SIM for the unlocked phone you actually want to use. You activate the BYOP SIM with a transfer from this phone and the number, service time, and minutes/text/data will all move over to the other device.

Or if you are currently on Tracfone, activate this phone with a transfer from your current line. Then, the next day, reactivate your original Tracfone with a transfer back from the new phone.

Activating with a transfer is safe. It is not recommended to just SIM swap. Some people have had no problems with moving SIMs around, but others have had their service cut off.

I'm looking on the app but I don't see it, does anyone know the current add a line bonus? I remember it was 10,000 towards the end of last year and then it went to 7000 in January from what I heard but I'm not sure what it is now that we are in February

Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through and potentially risky if service gets cut off.

Most of us have been doing it for years with these cheap phone deals without issues. Did it last week, took just a few minutes online to activate new phone (keeping current number) then moved line back to previous phone next day with an additional yr of service added.

FYI to answer other question about rewards the TF rewards site currently shows 500 pts for adding new line.

The add a line bonus has been drastically lowered to 500 points (sad trombone sounds)

Here'a a guide that's often linked to within these Tracfone deals:

Still looking for some slickdeals on smartphones I can buy with my Tracfone rewards in the Tracfone store. Samsung A53 5G isn't horribly priced right now.
