Maybe if you're DIYing a bigger project with many Phillips screws? Driver bits are consumables when you're doing a bigger project.

These are the best Phillips head I've used. Definitely worth buying this set. I think this is normal price though? I paid this a couple months ago.

I grabbed a pack. I've never used these, but use #2s a lot with an impact driver and non-impact bits don't last long, and as soon as the bit gets worn down, they strip out the screw-head leaving you with a chore to get the screw out. Had to put vice grips on one the other day to back it out.

it's like one bit per 20' of wood fence. Some screw brands just have a bad batch and the heads are all slightly malformed so the bit cams out more and causes early wear. Maybe people just lose these things and grab another. There's a lot of reasons to have a little pile of them.
