Good amp. The HT1R Mk II in surf green is also discounted to $199.99.

I've been looking for an apartment friendly tube amp, and at that price, I'll bite.

The black 1w is $319.99, so for that discount I can live with the color Smilie

I'm just debating if I should have ordered the 5W, since it can go down to 0.5w too.. but $100 more. I also have a used Monoprice 15w on the way.. hmm
So everybody knows, this is not pure tube amp. Yes it has preamp and output tubes, but I've checked the schematic and it is loaded with a bunch of op amps and other semiconductors. Same is for the 1watt version of it.

Heh yeah, I just called and had them change my order to the ht5r. More available power, bigger speaker, included foot switch, extra EQ capability. Worth the $100 difference.
My dedicated sales guy doesn't work weekends but thankfully got someone else to assist, though he did say he was going to have to email shipping as it had already been sent to the pick process. Hopefully all works ok, sweetwater's been great to deal with so far.

I have the first version of this amp and it's a great sounding amp. Decided to go ahead and get the Mk II to try it out. Nice find... thanks jbadjones!

Had the 5 watt 1/2 stack , it was a great amp and much louder than you would think. This is a killer deal

I didn't need an amp, but I think I'm going to buy this amp... Smilie Thanks.

Specifically, the $299, 12 incher.
This also seems like a possible good deal, but what do I know. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/...royal-blue

I honestly wasn't going to buy it when I posted it but reading the comments made me pick one up. Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy lol. Also seems like it may be a closeout deal hence the highly discounted price and once they're gone they're gone. Also looking at used prices, they are going for just about 15 to 20 bucks less than this one is new so resell potential down the road might hold well if someone outgrows this amp or playing guitar doesn't work out for whatever reason.

Half stack? In a 5 watt? No offense, but there is not enough power there to get into stacking dynamics. That's a combo, not a head.

I've heard it pops loud when switching channels and has reliability issues.

How does this compare to the 12" Monoprice tube amp?

This one does come with a free 2 year warranty directly from Sweetwater. I've never had to use their warranty service but from what I read, their customer service is always top notch.

Mine does this. Considering I just use it for playing at home I live with it.

At $600, I hope the 70/80 is actually a good match for the amp voicing, and not just a cost-saving measure.
