I own both. In my opinion, the paddle is better for use in the shower, as it vents for drainage. It's also 20% larger than the original; one stroke brushes a wider section of hair so it's great for working conditioner through the hair. The original is smaller and easier to hold, as it's less bulky. I personally use a paddle brush when I'm in the shower; otherwise, I use the original wet brush. Both do a great job on tangles.

For those who've never used a Wet Brush and have tangly hair, I highly recommend trying one.
You can find these kind of brushes at TJ Maxx, Marshalls for a lesser price.

original or paddle? which is better?
ordered but that said, amazon shows the msrp for pink paddle as $6.30, so not much of a discount.

In case anyone's wondering, I paid $7.56 for a Wet Brush Paddle Detangler (Black) in 2022 and $7.19 for an Original Wet Brush (Blue) in 2019. Just looked up my orders!

One of the pictures on Amazon has some random numbers with a claim that "independent clinical trials show that"
Since when is FDA allowing clinical trials to be run on hairbrush and what is the comparator brush they used? Also, did they compare to other brushes of similar kind or just 1 brush of an inferior quality?

Just the fact that they have the statement that their brush was found superior in a "clinical trial" shows me a red flag.

I have this same brush. You can use it wet or dry, but it is unwise to use other brushes on wet hair since it is more fragile when wet (use a wide-tooth comb). This brush has more "give" as the bristles are further apart and much more flexible than other brushes, so you're not snapping your hairs off or ripping them out of your head. Obviously, as with any brush or comb on long hair, you always start at the very ends and slowly move up towards the scalp. Anyway, best brush I've owned so far! I used to buy standard paddle brushes with the plastic bristles for my daughter and I's very long hair but use this brush exclusively now.

I actually just bought one yesterday at Marshalls! It was around $4.99 for the original sized oval brush.

Any recommendations on how to deep clean these brushes? I tried soaking them in hot water and shampoo, but the buildup of dirt on the brushes remain. Otherwise I like the original brushes.

Do not recommend his brush for super coily hair. The strands get caught at the end of the little bulbs….which leads to a lot of breakage.

I get these same brushes at Dollar Tree
So you actually tried this one and found the dollar store ones to be just as good?

Or you think it looks similar to one you bought at the dollar store and figure it's the same?

For anyone who hasn't tried a wet brush and has long hair, TRY ONE! It may literally change your life. And if you don't love it, FREE returns..

I'm not a shill but I am a GUY who didn't know much about taking care of long hair so was really impressed by what a difference these make when I learned about them. And just want everyone else to know Smilie

Trying to decide if I get this and then use the Robux cards from another thread as a bribe, if my daughter might actually brush her hair? 🤔
