I bought this because my sister needs a laptop and I know she wants to play casual games like Sims 4 and Minecraft. It rips through those titles and also Fall Guys and PUBG work totally great!

Microcenter also has DDR4 laptop ram on sale that works well with this pc. $500 for laptop $80 for a 32GB kit and now the laptop is pretty banging!

Screen quality is impressive, and will be good for my sister's photo editing needs. Should last her quite a while I hope !

PROTIP: If you do Windows Update -> Optional, some of the "HP" updates are A BIOS FLASH! THIS WILL RESET YOUR BITLOCKER KEY AND YOU CAN'T BOOT UNTIL YOU GET THE RECOVERY CODES FROM YOUR MICROSOFT ACCOUNT ! I totally got stuck in a bitlocker reboot cycle, so I ended up disabling it. My recommendation is to disable BitLocker drive encryption before you update the BIOS on this bad boy.

Hey All, shopping in this $500-600 range for my wife. She really just needs basics for word processing etc. Touch screen is a plus.

I thinks it's betweent his HP OR

This Lenovo Flex 5 https://slickdeals.net/f/16460587-lenovo-flex-5-16-touchscreen-ips-2560-x-1600-2-in-1-touchscreen-la...

or the Lenovo Yoga https://slickdeals.net/f/16468666-lenovo-yoga-7i-16-touch-2-in-1-laptop-i5-1240p-8gb-memory-256gb-ss...

I'd love anyone's perspective on what's the best value/fit.

Thanks!
Seems like the other two options are better for work/word processing, although this HP Victus can certainly do that but doesn't have the touchscreen. The advantage of this laptop is you'll have a dedicated GPU, which is helpful for some light gaming/video. Other than that, seems like the other laptops have a better CPU/screen so would go with that. Would rec to upgrade ram to 16 gb as that'll help tremendously.
