Is this the best option, in terms of quality and price, for a non-cloud storage secyrity camera system?

these use cloud for storage. I had them for a few years now and work ok at most, the interface isnt the best and when trying to retrieve a picture or capture a video it takes and extremely long time if your router is far away. Sometimes it doesnt even take a picture and will timeout repeatedly, even if your router is close.

They recently required a subscription for the main function of the camera unless you created a blink account prior to the change.

if you dont want cloud use I would look more towards a NVR system which usually requires the cameras to be hardwired to the NVR device

Since the EOL Arlo products, I am going to get the Blink 2-camera system + a mini with the local storage module. You can use Capital One shopping to get 30% from Dell but without the mini bundle I think. However, Dell is required shipping fee.

The kit includes includes a module 2 which allows you for the local storage without cloud subscription.

My girlfriend bought this for black Friday. Our free trial just ended and using local storage. Definitely recommend steering clear of this if not paying for the subscription. Takes extremely long to load video clips. Many times won't even load and have to try again. Also, if storage gets full you can only delete clips one by one or remove USB, connect to computer, delete everything, and then reconnect to sync module. Amazon has made it really difficult to use these without subscription. Look elsewhere.
