Still kind of confused why Samsung didn't include full size HDMI or DisplayPort inputs on it...

Either way what i want is a 32 or 42" QD-OLED 175hz real 4k
remember 34" is not real 4k and alot of games will not run at 4k on this monitor but will run fine at 2560x1440
i have the dell alienware/gsync version of this monitor which uses the same panel
with a TV your OLED will be less bright and have less pop. Although it will still look great compared to any LED TV made. Tvs are not made to be a office computer and text may look alot worse than a real pc monitor.
42" LG OLED has 120hz real 4k gsync vs 175hz not 4k 3440x1440, games may not suppor this resolutio . I notice a difference with 175hz on esports.
the 55" and up LG tvs will pop more than the smaller sizes , so more brightness. You will have to research this if you want details.
QD-OLED is the best panel made unless you buy the new G3 OLED from LG but that starts at 55" to 77" which is a TV.
On my dell when you hit the power button it automatically does a panel refresh , all you see is a black screen. On a TV you have to go into the service menu i hear to set certain settings to prevent the screen from dimming and always manually do oled panel refresh.
This is what i briefly read , i am not an expert at the LG 42" when it comes to settings. Also the dell alienware oled is matte which l think will be way better for office work vs gloss mirror on the OLED TV. The QD-OLED matte finish soaks up light and maintains super bright levels when the sun is on the screen , without seeing yourself..
either way this is exciting times to own a PC monitor for gaming and the 42" OLED is a great gaming TV for what you can do with it. I may sell my Sony CRT once and for all and use the 42" LG C3 in the future as a Arcade monitor for my launchbox front end , eventually it will go into either a pinball cab or arcade cab. My 65" C1 is my console gaming and use a retrotink 5x and OSSC upscaler on it and can say my super nintendo RGB modded or mister FPGA looks sick on it, better than any CRT. I briefly hooked up my Windows 98SE machine with a OSSC using scanlines and looked awesome. So my next oled is a 42" for sure, i guess my Sony G520 CRT is going for 400-700 now lol.

And it was like $990 a few days back
At 200 nits, is this even useable outside of a pitch black room?

get OLED man
Another user listed the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2. While this particular monitor is new, Alienware actually released their Gen 1 QD-OLED last year. I wonder if they'll also get a Gen 2 QD-OLED monitor before Samsung.
Rich people buy the things they need, not the things that make them look entitled. You would need the Ferrari to compensate or mask your flaws, I could get away driving the Corolla. Character matters, enjoy your material things in life 🏎️
I've never found any wrong information on the the internet, so you should be ok 👍
There will always be something better on the horizon it's your choice to wait by the time you do. The next gen better one will be "coming"
