Heh, you're not familiar with M12, are you? That's what I thought when I first heard about this line, thinking that it was a low-end starter line for casual DIYers. But it's the real deal, in many cases as powerful or more powerful as comparable 18-20V tools including Milwaukee ones. Some of them are extremely popular and well-regarded, like the "Stubby" impact wrench, impact driver and die grinder. I've got one of each and a few others and swear by them. I did a ton of car restoration work last summer with them. The Stubby has gotten off nearly every fastener I've used it on, including lug nuts. Google it, watch some YouTube videos, and find out what it can do. You'll be amazed. And the reason to get it over 18-20V tools is that they're typically smaller and lighter and thus easier to carry around and use. Lots of pros swear by them.

Seems like a really good deal considering there are a ton of "tool only" listings on FB marketplace. Just saw a brand new hammer drill listed for $73. I think people just doing the "hack" and selling pieces separately to make a couple bucks.

Not necessarily. Yeah, more capacity, but various tests have shown that the 3.0XC is in some ways more powerful than the 4.0XC, because it uses better cells. It's actually the one battery that I don't yet have so I can't vouch for that but google it and see. That said, I have the 4.0 and it's been fine.

I'm guessing a number people selling at those prices got in on the buy more save more price glitch this past week and are flipping that stuff for low prices because they got a bunch of different tools for $20-30 each

What was the glitch? There was a very nice glitch today on d_t_o that gave a Brushless Ridgid band saw + 2x 4ah battery for only $99

My coworker was the product manager for Milkwaukee for several years and he explained that a bunch of the M12 tools are better than the low end M18. The M12s are good enough for most jobs out there. Idk all the technical stuff behind it, but his recommendation was to go M12.

My M12 tools haven't failed me yet. My previous impact wrench was Craftsman 18V and much bigger and heavier and the stubby is as good or better and much lighter and smaller. I haven't used the 18V since I got it, nor any of my other non-M12 tools.

All M12 batteries will fit, including the ones in this deal, if you are referring to the m12 version inflator.
