Wow got excited for a second until I realized this was the super secret employee pricing that not many people/companies qualify for. Great price, hopefully there are some similar deals elsewhere coming.

AUA are the Costco models. They have WIFi 6 and the NFC enabled Magic Remote.

Should we give our work email while signing up?
Try to create an account with your work email, if your company is part of the program it will let you.

Consumer Reports gives the PUA and AUA 65 inch models exactly the same score of 85, with picture quality equal in all respects. You probably have hit it on the head as to what is the difference. Current Costco price is $1699, which seems to roughly match what I'm seeing elsewhere for the PUA models. So yes, this is a very good price if one cant get it...........which it seems like most folks can't at this time.

Wonder how all of LG's and Samsung's partners feel about being undercut by them via direct to consumer sales. Hopefully this is a harbinger of the prices we'll start to see more widely after Super Bowl.

IKR? "Hey don't sell our TVs for a dollar less than we say but we're gonna sell them for dirt cheap so no one wants to buy them from you".

Our goes through "perks at work". I searched LG, entered work email, then when approved it gives a link to the member site and login.

LG member deals go through Feb 12th, so new ones should drop shortly after that, when post superbowl deals usually come up

All manufacturer's do this, it's nothing new.

No they do not. Retailers do not like being sold many millions in product only to have the manufacturer turn around and undercut them.

The only way this makes sense is if LG and Samsung have rebates in the works for the retailers and the retailers are holding off to try to maximize profit until superbowl purchases are over.

I doubt they'd care much since this is through a special purchase program most do not have access to. If it were a public sale undercutting retailers I could see them being upset.

This one does have less reach than Samsung's. The special program is undoubtedly the reason it doesn't violate their distribution agreements with retailers. I'm sure there are undercutting exclusions for those transactions.

If I was Costco I'd still be pretty angry unless Costco is getting rebates from LG, after all this is a Costco specific model.

Yes, they literally do. Look up employee discount programs, every company has them and they undercut the retailers. This isn't just for electronics, all the major appliance manufactures have them, every single car company has them, etc....
