oh and ... it's well well worth it, i'll be getting two more.
I know many would say NO for 220v, but I've done this before. 220v for the chargers and laptop use, and zero heat is observed after soo many hours. The flat plug makes this cord great.

Current or as SSI put it how many amps you are pulling is the real factor in heat generation and in that regard 240v is to your advantage. Higher voltage means lower current for the same amount of power so you should be less likely to see heat issues with higher voltage.
Where the voltage really comes in is the insulation around the wires. Higher voltage needs better insulation. There's not really any way to tell if this cord has good enough insulation for 240v or not. It's entirely possible it does as making cords for both standards using the same wires may well be a cost savings.
