Thought this might interest some people working on a budget build since you still don't see many decent motherboards at this price point. Nice amount of storage slots at this price.

10th and 11th gen Intel CPUs were totally eclipsed by 12th and 13th. I wouldn't invest too much in this.
Well, I'm currently still on i7 3rd gen and everything is working fine. I just want to upgrade for cheap, coz I guess my old setup will fail at some point. I don't really have a need for faster machine, just looking for the best price-to-speed ratio.

I woulda said Ebay used but holy shît....clearly the 10700k deal I got at MC last year for $150 was pretty great
They had a bunch in Tustin but mobo were so expensive I just couldn't justify supporting the anti-innovation price fixing stagnate the human race in tech development Team Blue at the time.
X3d is the future and and not including it on all their processors is a marketing mishap taking them in the same greedy direction. AMD should be putting the pressure on TSMC not subject to them controlling our technological destinies in the US of A.

The problem is if you're starting from a motherboard chances are that you'll spend a lot more money before you have it up and running (CPU, memory, PSU, ... ). The 12th gen Intels are significantly better than the 11th so starting with an 11th gen mobo isn't a good investment IMHO. If you were getting a super cheap bundle or whole PC, or perhaps you already have the other components, then maybe.
I would add to the don't invest in 10th or 11th gen intel, 12th is a lot faster not much more, and cheap ryzen 5 gen beats this. It's a shame z590 is a good chipset and these boards are great but the cpus are going to be way too expensive at this point to justify the savings over z690. I say this as the owner of a 10700k/z490, core count and clock speed are great but ipc was not competitive and it quickly showed.

I agree with the part about not investing too much. I wouldn't get anything like an i7 to pair with this z590 at current prices. However, looking at the next step up (12th gen), the 10th/11th gen were not "totally eclipsed". Since someone considering a budget motherboard is likely to pair it with more budget oriented parts like an i5 11400f, I'd note that the comparable 12400f also comes with 6 p cores and 0 e cores. The major gains for 12th gen and up were primarily for heavily multi-threaded workloads running on the 12600k and higher due to the added p cores.
Btw, specifically for gaming, the jump from the 11400f to the 12400f is less than what people seem to be claiming: https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...0f/16.html
The 12400f shows a 12% gain in gaming at 1080p. Part of the gains are also due to the use of DDR4-3600 vs DDR5-6000 for the 12400f. DDR5-6000 would not go into a budget build.
Someone considering the Z590 motherboard is very likely looking for a starting point for a budget build. Given how much half-decent ATX motherboards for AM4/AM5 and LGA 1700 are still going for, an $80 Z590 like this paired with a cheap i5 10400f/11400f or similar could be a solid upgrade option for a budget builder.
Fwiw, I went the Z590 + 11400f path a year ago due to a fire sale that made it a no brainer. Paired with an RX 6600 XT at 1080p ultrawide on modern games, my CPU is around 25-35% while the GPU is maxed out.
MB is OK, but where should I get a CPU from the same price range?
Realistically, I'd pair the MB with an i5 10400f or i5 11400f for general usage and gaming on a budget. Those are about $105/$120+ new respectively. For anything higher, I'd look to AM4/5 or LGA 1700. Probably a cheap LGA 1700 based on current pricing. If you have workloads that benefit a lot from additional cores, I recommend the 12600k (and higher) or 13th gen due to e cores.
In the end, I'd go with whatever has the best price-to-performance for your use case. Outside of modern games, I didn't anticipate many CPU heavy workloads so a cheap 11400f was fine for me. These guys benchmarked just about every modern CPU so it's worth a look if you haven't seen it yet. Here's the gaming summary at 1080p: https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...0f/16.html
Note that newer CPUs are also helped by DDR5 during the benchmarks so your gains would be more modest if you pair 12th gen with budget DDR4 etc

They also sometimes do deals through amazon, but not as good.
