I have these. They have some interesting features (the pseudo-hearing-aid customization), but they're a tough sell at $200. Sound quality is good, not great. Noise canceling, the same. Fit is terrible; they always feel like they're falling out regardless of the tips. Literally the worst-fitting of a dozen pairs of wireless earbuds I own. They don't like Windows machines. Pairing is fine, but they'll randomly disconnect.

I waffle between keeping and returning all the time. Probably I'll return and throw the dice with Sony or Bose when they're available at Costco.

Is there any reason to buy Apple care if buying AirPods from Costco gives you two years warranty ?
Thats the thing, if I'm buying apple care then buying at target or other retailers makes sense, costco has 2 years but I wonder how their warranty works, seems no one knows or have used their warranty. Meaning do they talk to applecare from customers end/?

See post #19. Costco's 2nd year warranty doesn't apply to AirPods.

You and everyone else who has bought these. Do yourself a favor and buy the foam replacement ear pieces on amazon. 100% better. mine where always falling out and the foam pieces helped so much!

So I have these plus the Soundcore Liberty 4 and Liberty 3. The Soundcore are cheaper and sound much much better. These 2 also have 1 ear transparency mode. The Apple ones are just better integrated for iPhones by having controls on the control panel. I'm on the fence about returning my apple ones due to sound quality and price ($200).
LOL I had the Liberty 3 and no way that sounds better than AirPods Pro 2. They do have more bass, but the highs and mids are way more clear on the AP2/AP1. Also, the AP2's ANC is way better than Liberty 3's.

Did I ask anyone to compile data? No. Read my post. Nobody can or will even cite any data. Clearly I don't want to spend 4x as much for a product that apparently doesn't perform better, or have all the features of a less expensive product. That's why I visit this site. I want to find out whether there's any objective reason people think the Apple product is better. So far, it's all just religion.
Rtings actually uses sound equipment to measure response and distortion across the frequency range. The Verge podcast has done two episodes in the last 6 months with recordings of each devices mic in a crowded coffee house and on a ferry. There were also subjective responses about the ANC results from the person at the far end (in the coffee house).

If y'all stopped paying ridiculous amounts of money on this booger sized things Apple will lower its prices.
Honestly, if the better alternatives were priced way lower (ie. Sony WF XM4), I doubt that most people will get the AirPods Pro 2 over them. But since the difference between them is not that much, people will just tend to go with Apple.

Samsung Galaxy buds are less than half the price. And the general concensus is that they sound better.

Target shows 15 BUT I get an extra 30 with Red card. Rebuying at Costco for same prices for reasons mentioned above!
How do you get an extra 30 with Red card? Is it not only 5%? Curious. Thanks.

What's the likelihood of this price coming around again in a few months? I currently own a secondhand pair of gen 2 regular AirPods I like, but I think they're slowly making their way out to pasture (right earbud randomly got quieter, now it affects both, so I pretty much always have to have the volume at max to hear things). Not sure I want to make the investment just yet but want to know how long I should be prepared to wait if I don't take advantage of this sale.
