I had been researching grinders and this popped up. $20 bucks cheaper than other outlets and Costco's return policy makes it a no brainer for me.

had this for like 10 years. no issues, good one
This is definitely not required. I know someone that's had one for 10+ years with daily use, rarely cleans it, still runs great
Take a spoon and run water over it. Stir the beans with spoon before grinding. Problem solved.

Seems like 2 users davin900 and thammara said it's not for expresso, but I guess it's better than blade grinder. But kind of what's the point to use burr if it doesn't work for espresso? Does it still taste different than using blade grinder? However, they said "Turkish fine", so that's very fine. That's not good enough for espresso?

Any reasonably priced recommendations?
There really isn't anything at this price point that will do a proper espresso grind. Your best bet is a decent manual which will run close to 150. Put a drill on it (relatively low speed) and you can make pretty good espresso grinds.

You can put your weed in just about anything, except maybe a cybertruck.

I think you misread them. Turkish is a finer grind than espresso so if your grinder can't get consistently fine for espresso it definitely can't do Turkish.

I had one for 6-7 years before I got rid of it because the motor started making an electrical ozone smell every time I ran it. But for the price, it's pretty solid. Only complaints are the static issue and also the fines getting clogged in the grounds chute. The Baratza I bought as a replacement is definitely an upgrade, but not a huge one.

It is night and day different in flavor. Especially for medium/light roast.

You'll also want to weigh your beans instead of just doing scoops and measure your water with a measuring cup instead of the lines on the machine.

If you think I sound crazy, this may not be the product for you.

Question for the coffee crowd. I have a Baratza Encore and love it, but it is incredibly loud. Any thoughts on a "quiet" grinder?

Current owners, if one wants to do a pound oat a time, do you need to allow this to cool down between runs?

Doesn't it defeat the purpose of using whole beans if you grind so much at one go? I mean, unless you're making coffee for a regiment

Have had this for about 5 years. One of my favorite slickdeals from back then. Don't have static issues.Definitely a game changer if you've never ground your beans. Downsides arethat it's a bit hard to clean, and the dial to set how much you want to grind doesn't make much sense (setting it to 2 won't give you twice as much as 1), and the hopper isn't self-contained. Otherwise, solid solid unit for drip coffee.

If im spending $80 for a coffee grinder im probably better off just spending $650 for a super automatic on sale.

any issue with the mess caused by fly away grounds from static? I'm hoping to solve this problem with this upgrade.
Yes, but pretty sure that's just part of the process regardless of the grinder. Can help to use different beans, as I think the darker roast has less moisture and more prone to static.

Still works after 4 years. Only thing, coffee grounds don't 100% fall into the receptacle.
