Great deal OP.

If you're wondering, the $23 version does NOT have the safety pins, while the $24 model DOES have the safety pins.

The locking cams rarely fail if used properly (unless they are old HF models). But they can be misused by raising the stand under the car and getting it lodged between clicks, which can somewhat hold the weight of the car - until it doesn't.

The locking pins of the better model guard against that and won't even go in unless the top part is in the correct position.

Are these good enough to hold a Subaru ascent?
Yes, wouldn't hurt to keep 2 bricks handy and slide under each wheel when the car is up, that's my low budget safety hack

Everybodies situation is different, but how much does it cost to have your tires rotated vs the effort put into jacking up all 4 corners and placing your vehicle on an unstable platform of 4 stands? Ive done it and for me, it just isnt worth the effort. Besides, most tire shops give you free rotation for the life of a new set of tires.
Clearly you don't own an impact wrench. Takes like 10 mins and u can do from comfort of your home.

if somebody has already jacked up the front and has it on stands to do their oil... how much effort is it really to pull the floor jack around the back and crank it up a little, and slide another set of stands under to get the tires off..? far less time than driving to the shop and waiting for them to do it. on the plus side, always nice to know a garage isn't torqueing the hell out of my lugs because they're in a hurry (being they're making no money)... for that lug nut fight the next time you get a flat Wink

"unstable platform"... that's hilarious. i've changed multiple engines/trans on 4 stands, it's anything but "unstable" on quality stands.
So you are saying these are quality stands?
Next time you get a flat and have a hard time removing the lug nuts, have your wife remove them for you.

Locking pins are a dumb idea - just tells you the pawls do not function correctly on that model! The Pawls on jackstands LOCK under any weight as they must lift the cradle of the stand the full height of the notch of the pawl to release. The locks are only useful when no load is on the stand, like if you tip it sideways carrying it.

This NOT A DEAL! I bought Torin's BlackJack line which is better than this AT WALMART for $24-25 a pair last year, got 4 total. Saving a DOLLAR is not a FP deal, what a JOKE!

YOU DON'T DO AUTOMITVE WORK CLEARLY! People who own jackstands dont pay $900 for a tire package at the local rip-off shack that offers a free alignment that damages your car.

Some of us own SHOP EQUIPMENT LIKE ROAD FORCE TIRE BALANCERS IN OUR HOME GARAGES!

No tire place on this planet has ever given me free tire rotations! I buy my tires used on craigslist or online. You only care about your own situation and cannot see other's situations, which is narcissistic.

no idea if these are good, just good stands in general

good one on the wife joke chief.
you've never had a shop over-torque lugs and try to get them off with the 1ft bar that comes in most cars (if they have a spare these days)? it ain't fun. i always remove and torque properly after a tire change or inspection these days, just to be on the safe side. most garages suck and their employees are garbage.

If the car is on jack stands with wheels removed, slide the wheel under teh frame of the car in a way it doesn't obstruct your work. A safety net should a jack ever fail (it should not ever though)
