My 4 year old loves playing this and exploring on horseback. After the initial opening it's pretty well opened. When she wants to do some quests, it highlights the routes really well to follow with big beams of light.

You will spend a lot of time playing the game for her, bored out of your mind, questioning what it means to be a good parent, while she is in the other room doing something fun.

depends on what you mean by "handle". my 4 year old just does a lot of riding in the open world. as another said, the game is very boring overall but my girl doesn't know that. she loves open exploration games like this or games like gigantasaur and paw patrol (also mario 64, sunshine and odyssey).
