Newegg [newegg.com] has the Thermaltake Smart BM2 power supply on sale for $61.99. Haven't seen too many power supply deals lately but this seems like a decent deal for a basic power supply with decent wattage.

Update 1: Amazon [amazon.com] has price matched.
Update 2: Newegg back up to $74.99 but Amazon still showing $61.99.

Looks like a decent component for the price.

A better question is "Are power supplies getting smarter?"

80+ rating supposedly doesn't mean much with little difference between bronze and gold.
The Cultists Network PSU list has the best ratings of quality right now, where this one is in C tier. Which means it's a solid PSU to build with especially for its price, but not top tier for high end rigs.

The power supply I purchased became self aware and is currently on the loose somewhere in the woods with my roomba….

much wiser heads than mine will weigh in on this comment of mine I'm sure ... and absolutely worth pointing out what I'm quoting, the deal is long gone (dead)... but I do remember snagging during the Black Friday/December xmas sale a Cooler Master MasterWatt 750 Watt Semi-fanless Modular Power Supply, 80 Plus Bronze Certified power supply for $30 after rebates ( I know I know, the dreaded rebate, I almost always get mine in the mail without any fuss but I can see why people say " I am NOT filling out a rebate, ever, in my entire life ! ) ... so not sure if it's worth waiting until Black Friday/December sales if you have that luxury? I'm guessing what's on sale here is probably a better power supply anyways (again wiser heads than mine will weigh on this with their own comments I'm sure)
Do hang onto a pdf of the receipt and take a picture of the serial and model number which I'm guessing is on the package or the power supply or something like that... no idea how good thermaltake's warranty process is but it doesn't hurt to check out the extended warranty coverage you probably have through your credit card... sometimes they do pay for it via a credit back to your credit card but they'd want the info I just mentioned when you're filing the claim.
